which one do you like better? both have ups and down

valorant: very little international LANS but they are more hype because only the best teams go

cs: lots of international events but most of them aren't as hype

i personally prefer more international LANS but maybe that's just me

CS anyday, where new tournament happens every week, then you skip some tournies if youre not interested in teams participating in that tournments
Whereas there is like tournment every 4 months in valorant

no point in holding very few international lans when 90% of the regional matchups are boring as hell.

Mixture of both would be perfect. Valorant = too little, CSGO = too much. I would say I prefer CSGO's system, but obviously events like Masters, Champions, MSI or Worlds are way more hype by their own.

Yeah valorant need to find a middle ground maybe some third party international tourneys, Like blast and redbull.

Third party cant happen with riot games
Riot made LOL franchise based and they will make valorant franchise based as well within next 2 years for sure which will eventually kill tier 2 teams and tournaments

CS, plenty of events are still hype. Although I would say some of that might be from the CS scene being more developed and tier 1 teams being closer to one another than they are in Valorant (except Navi maybe)

Can you please explain the franchise system?

Even the smaller cs tournaments have more hype than any valorant tournament.

true, they need to get rid of seeding matches and have LANs for regional playoffs to help make them more interesting.
this in turn will bring more hype for international events

It could be bad for players mental health to play and to travel that much but for orgs of course it's much better to participate in as much tournaments as they can. Otherwise they are spending a lot of money on their roaster to play once per 2-3 months. That may motivate a lot of orgs that are not able to qualify to Champions for a year or two to leave Valorant

Do you guys think 4 international tournaments in a year is very less?

Riot needs to do introduce inter-regional or regional LAN tournaments and also increase the number of teams in both masters and champions. And I would love to see Champions format just like worlds.
Play-ins
Play-ins knockout
Group stage
Knockout stage

And I don't want top teams to fight each other every second day it reduces the value of the match. When you have very few big international tournaments it makes those tournaments so special and it creates a whole new rich story. Just look at worlds man I have never seen a single esports tournament more hyped than worlds just because of storylines. Just Imagine worlds 2022 and Faker in finals again how much weight it's going to hold for the league it's just amazing

I would Riot needs to do just a little bit of tweaks in VCT format and they are all good. Talking about the offseason it's a necessary a thing for valorant but offseason time should be filled with tournaments for tier2 teams or tier 2 tournaments in general where lots of new player can show their skill.

what do you guys think about this?

it was the first year of vct. i hope there will be a few 3rd party international lans next that actually count towards the vct circuit points as well as the official tourneys.
2 challengers (regional) LAN, 2 masters LAN, 3 third party LAN, LCQ (regional) LAN, Champs LAN
that i think would be ideal.
examples of 3rd party organizers: red bull, blast, dreamhack, MSI, Razer, KJC (could be partially invited teams based on recent performance as well as open qualifiers. i think it would be cool if there was circuit points for these tourneys)
riot probably wants to franchise so there could be regional leagues twice a year (to qual for challengers)
