I play on a laptop with specs- i5 7th gen, NVIDIA MX230, 8GB RAM
So basically when i start playing valorant i get like 100-120 fps but after like 20 mins or so, my laptop starts overheating and my fps drops to 20-30ish and it becomes really hard to play because of the fps change that happens mid game. Any tips on how to fix this?

cap fps to 65 and set one resolution low of same aspect ratio. You'll be blessed.

it happen to me as well, that's because ur cpu is overheating and can't keep up with the temperature
u should Clean the internal fans and u should playing valorant at low temperature room (use AC) or
u should use external fan and point towards your laptop (so ur laptop won't overheating)

sorry for bad grammar

If you are sure it's because of overheating then you should check whether your laptop fans are running at full speed or not while gaming and also clear any dust formed on vents by blowing air ( air compressor is recommended ) and if possible apply new thermal paste.
