i was in the cafeteria line trying to get a drink for breakfast and there were a group of 4 cute girls in front of me, they are kinda friendly and waved but then one of them said "i'll pay for the guy behind me as well" and i just didn't know how to react, does she think i'm cute? was she just trying to be a decent human being since the drink was like $1? am i weird for thinking that she thinks i'm cute? i'll probably never see this girl again but i need your expert opinions on females, this was the most interaction i've had with the opposite sex since i've edated so yay

Real talk tho, no need to overthink it. If you're grateful for the gesture you can show it but that'd be the end of that. Unless told, it's better to have no assumptions, just stick with what you do know, and be honest to yourself.

next time that happens, thank her and ask her name. then you can engage in FRIENDLY conversation and soon you'll find out her real intentions. ask her how often she goes to that cafeteria, what's her favorite drink, say something interesting about yourself (things you'd do outside, don't tell her you play valorant) and yeh, conversation flows. you can also try to exchange contact information after that, say it's in case she wants to hang out someday, and that's it. that's what I would do
