For years, orgs, players, and fans have complained about the lack of events. Now that the EWC offers a real solution with a major prize pool that incentivizes pretty good, people suddenly want to boycott it. That only hurts the scene and tells organizers that investing in Valorant isn't worth it just because some want to make a losing PR statement.

tbh i haven't actually heard complaints about lack of events during the season

i would agree with this take if ewc happened during the offseason, but this only seems like it worsens burnout (especially since the teams that win kickoff i.e. go to toronto also qualify to ewc), meaning they will likely play 2 tournaments in such a short span

well the teams that don't make those events (alot) will have to take like a 2 monthish break?

either way, its video games, they should be able to click heads without having to take a month break between events. if they want to compete with csgo in terms of scene, they have to do this

not arguing with how much burnout pros should have, all i'm saying is that top teams have complained in the past about burnout without an event like ewc and now they're adding another event

also not sure what you mean, first post seems like you are saying teams and fans should be happy with another event, but imo it's up to riot if they want to scale up to the size of csgo

a lot of people are complaining about lack of events or regional games tbf. having to wait 2 months just to see your team play again is horror.

also is burnout really an issue? feel like thats just the curse of being a top team and what differs the best from worst.

EWC really ruined the tournament schedule, I feel sorry for all the emea teams, they really weren't allowed to rest.

this is true, but that was emea production fault for their shitty equipment no? i dont think ewc is to blame here

I mean even if we look at AMER AND PACIFIC who have to qualify, they still haven't rested

Americans for sure has had enough rest lol, maybe a case for PRX can be made for Pacific

However Pacific starts in a week lol, I think 2 weeks is enough given its just video games

This is not just a matter of being tired for a while but can lead to burnout in the long term

no the schedule for emea never changed because of tech issues it was always the same, there was no delay to playoffs timing
