I've got a theory.
I personally believe solo q might not be best for achieving higher ranks but it sure is in a long run. In other words solo q plat>>>teamed up plat in terms of individual skills. However there are certain rules to remember.

  1. You only have a limited amount of "Pro Energy" in you everyday. Once this energy is fully utilized, you'll eventually face a diminishing returns i.e. bad gameplay. For eg. I noticed I can can win an avg of 3 games. So now I play max 4 competitive and rest unrated games. By this way, my gameplay graph only trends upward or at peak but never slopes down and therefore I can avoid my potential loss of rank.
  2. Your gameplay is directly proportional to your confidence level and team comms and inversely proportional to your unnecessary risky plays and ego peeking.
  3. Trust me 5 min in range before every competitive game is an extremely underrated advise.

I genuinely felt like point 1 was something happening to me and I started taking advantage of that mindset. Feels like playing ranked for some kind of drains their energy sooner rather than later, I stopped playing as many games per day and ranked up faster.

tho after a year of valorant i still havent found literally anybody to play with, feelsbad

feels bad man, solo q sometimes could be a nightmare and it gets tiring, but I'm used to it because I played csgo before and tbh valorant solo q is way better than csgo solo q for me

btw what is your rank after a year of playing?

yeah i agree on the take between csgo and valorant, tho it hurts more to have an afk on valorant than it did on csgo, since in csgo you could make use of bots in regular mm... so yeah.

after a year immortal, i used to be lvl 9 in faceit (that was my peak i would mostly fly around 7-8) and GE in MM.

All of your points are good advices, especially the 1st one - usually I try to play till I'm feeling good and hitting my shots, but sometimes when I lose one or two games I get mad and tend to rage q.
Tbh solo q feels so random at every aspect, even at my own individual performance - one game I can bottom frag and lose every duel but next game I'm suddenly hitting every shot and top fragging the game.
Also I play 1-2 or even 3 DM's before the first game of the day.
I think that I'm a good player and I could reach higher ranks but every game is a coin flip and feels so random.

people cant understand that if they play better they'll rank up anyway

to play better u should play more

to play more and not get tilted u should have fun and enjoy the game
