Easiest Languages to Learn

Brothers, what do you think are some of the easiest languages to learn? Of course your native language can make it easier or harder in some cases.
Personally I think German is quite easy to learn given you have background in other languages like Dutch, English, etc.
Thoughts?

Its english by far u can learn it fairly well in a year

Also german is f'ed up. 5 year of german and you are still worse than a year of english

Interesting how a language that compiled other languages is easier than some of the root languages it derives from.

The problem with english is that it isn't something well learnt by Asians just because of how the pronounciation differs quite a lot and the system between the two (Korean, Japanese, and Chinese specifcially).

Definitely english. I mastered it pretty easily just by watching movies and playing games in english with subtitles

I think that it’s probably due to the American and British dominance in the pop culture world that makes English easy to learn, imagine being bombarded by the English language basically since the day you were born and then trying to learn it later, you would find it pretty easy because you have been exposed to it for so long

Thats definitely a factor. Though I guess it depends on the country too and the amount of american/british pop culture influence in each country

I go to a school with lots of international students, and many of them have been basically taught English by watching American movies lol, though the Asian kids have some trouble speaking it

True but also english is crazy easy to learn generally in french u have like 28 letters in a row for one sound and in german instead of "the" u have "der die das"

This is by far the hardest part of German, everything has a gender and it changes based on the word. English is rather simple in that regard.

Wow, I was not expecting English to be listed as the easiest. I found it difficult to learn, especially the way it can be inconsistent.

Chinese makes sense. Which at least makes it easier for me. I mean like if your language beforehand is english or any of the such. ofc it's like one of the hardest bc of tones. But the grammar structure makes the most sense out of the three East Asian languages which honestly makes it slightly easier in the long run.

Ofc there are much much easier languages. But Chinese isn't as hard as people think it is.

But if you want a really easy one. Just learn Esperanto lmfao. If you know English, French, Spanish, or literally any western language. This should be very easy.

Chinese can be easier for some people from the west because you don't need to learn a new alphabet when writing or reading. You just need to memorize what a character represents and you can read and write that word. Very interesting thoughts brother.

Also Chinese is probably one of the most useful languages because it can be used in at least a few languages. But the memorization can be very hard for a lot of people. I honestly don't find it that hard. But it ofc can be for many people. Chinese is at least one of the easier ones from my point of view.

It depends on your mother tongue for sure. For us spaniars for example, Italian, Portuguese and even French are easy languages to learn. German is actually a tough one.
I think that due to the content worldwide, English is the easier to learn no matter your country of birth.

It doesn't mean either of them are easy..... but put that aside. The romance languages are def the second easiest(after esperanto) languages to learn for English speakers. So I guess it kinda is true. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

There were 3 type's of grammar exist if im not mistaken,
for example if you know English you can easly learn all most any EU language (Except Greece they are using diffrent alphabet idk if there are any other)
But you will have a hard time learning Asian and Turkish languages
Like so i allmost know every word in English but im making terrible sentences because i dont have any idea how Engilsh grammar works

Spanish maybe, I understand Spanish and it feels similar to English when reading or writing. But my pronunciation is shit.

This question makes no sense learning a new language is influenced by how similar their native language is to it. for me who learned English first french was the easiest then Bahasa then Chinese but for others like Japanese to Chinese it would take a significantly less time just like me learning french

If you're english the easiest languages to learn are dutch and french imo
