Tldr= can't swim in a 2m pool need advice. Entire situation mentioned below.

I started a thread about this and it was deleted. It was probably deleted because I was having a breakdown and thus used the wrong words to describe what was going on. Lemme explain my situation in a better way.
Idk how to swim properly. Can't float properly in water and stuff. So my father signed me to this place where there's a 2m pool which goes deeper till 5.5m. I can't even float in the 2m pool (even with the air tube thingies on my upper arms) without drinking the entire pool (felt like I was about to drown). There's no one there to teach me how to swim cuz the life guards speak a different language and the same with the instructors. My father managed to convince one of the instructors to teach me and I gotta go there at 2pm today and its 4:50am right now. I cant even sleep rn. Its gonna be so awkward and I probably wouldnt learn anything cuz of the language barrier. And I dont even have an option rn to learn to swim or even float in a shallow pool cuz there aint one and this membership expensive af. If I skip, my father's definitely not gonna be happy. I tried to watch videos on YouTube but I cant get rid of the fear cuz I have never stepped in a deeper pool. It feels so scary when my feet wont touch the ground(base) of the swimming pool. Need some advice. And also I gotta be shirtless in the pool.(makes me feel uncomfortable)

One thing many instructors don’t tell you is to purposely drink a lot of the water. It may sound stupid at first but it makes you more like the water around you, and this makes it easier to float

You just gotta relax and let your body go. Become one with the water, if you relax your muscles you'll start to float on your own. Don't be afraid, you won't die so easily man. If you keep being anxious then you'll never get past the basics of it. Just relax and let things happen and let the instructor help.

Just trust yourself. Just swim and do it like how you entry on duelist. You might not get the kill. But it's still better if you just trust yourself. If something goes wrong. The people near you will help you.

i swim competitively and lifeguard, i got maybe a few things that might help

  • try to touch the bottom with your feet (and push off from the bottom once you do). 2 m isn't that deep and once you do that you'll feel more comfortable
  • if you tryna float one thing that helps is trying to go horizontally and push your hips up
  • also if you ever happen to be drowning just call out "daddy" rlly loudly; you'll see a giant flash of light and i'll appear and save you

nah but fr try out the first two things they help when i teach kids swimming
