They aren’t even SR GC, they are called Shopify Rebellion. So technically they will be in Tier 2 challengers automatically next year ?

With how they play, it should happen.

Challengers teams invited are based on the core of team staying together iirc, so the current team wouldn't qualify for the invite. However there will likely be 4+ challenger spots up for grabs in the open quals, so they've got a solid shot.

teams are not invited like that + they can't beat any decent tier 3 teams so they would most likely not do good in tier 2
