WHAT IS VCS???

I always see smaller tier pros saying they are playing vcs so I assumed it was a small nsg type tournament but I could never find anything about it but today I saw zekken saying he was playing it and now I am confused because I don’t see xset playing in any tournaments right now. Is it a tournament? Scrims? Nothing to do with valorant competitive? Help me pls

tier 4-5 NA event series, typically seen as pretty puggy and non-serious despite its $1000 weekly prize pool

you'll sometimes see tier 3 players form pug teams to mess around in it

used to be a major watershed event series since a lot of young talent was scouted from it in the early days, but competition has gotten pretty dry and it's grown a poor reputation in NA VAL

exactly right, except this time there is a tier 2 player (zekken) in it on a team with some decent tier 3 players like critical

agree esp. with line 3, usually if you won VCS you could get signed if you won it multiple times (PUGSTARS) but now it's a topic of debate where people disagree if it's an actual tournament worthy of good teams or just a pug tourney for random stacks to fluke their way to a win.
I think people think it's more of the latter because of the bo1 formats making it a bit more random than other events and the level of teams has fallen a lot w/ other organizers holding tournaments
