How to enjoy playing as a controller

my csgo friends started playing val and ofc, they one trick certain agent and since i played this game since act 1 ep 1 (more experience) i gotta play as a smoker, but it has been boring because i never played other roles (only sova if a random picks a smoker which is very rare). they always tried to play compe even though they're new, though if unrated i'd never pick smoker.

soo any tips to enjoy playing as a controller/smoker more? like agressive playstyle, or should i just smurf so i dont get angry losing RRs?
viper on breeze n icebox is fun tho.

ah forgot to mention im silver 3 half to gold, and if im gold that means i cant play with my bronze friends and gotta smurf so i dont feel bad lol

Astra is too much fun as a controller and quite different too , especially in lower elos , just smoke and pull at the entry and spray with a phantom ez 3k

I used to have that problem, but now I just hover over skye and eventually a random picks a smoke so I just play skye. The only smokes I play assuming Im not filling is viper on icebox and breeze cuz those maps are impossible without one I like playing viper quite a lot.

you could goo aggro if you're smurfing cos you probably stomp anyone in a gun fight anyway, otherwise go 200iq lurk and make big plays kinda like how Boaster plays

idk i enjoy being a smokes player. its not a passive gameplay like cypher or killjoy on defense and not agressive like duelists. its something between them, u can mix it up with passive and agressive plays and it fits perfect for my gameplay

play viper every map

thats what i do at diamond elo so

also its fun playing smokes/controller to me because you have an excuse to lurk more often and setup your team. if your whole team dies you get more chances to clutch and trade frags since you're 3rd/4th person in usually

but if you want to play duelist just lock in honestly

play brim and sit in your smokes with shotguns it’s super tilting and funny af
