NRG isn't out yet, don't get me wrong. I still have faith that they'll come back from this because it'll be a wake up call and this shit always happens; because of their lack of firepower and pure reliance on strats NRG can win against everyone but also lose against everyone--especially aggressive teams that are good at clutching rounds (i.e. old FPX, PRX, BLG)
That being said, I do agree this team would be great if they just had that extra level of firepower to bring them over the edge.
The issue here is that FNS isn't the only voice on the team. Victor and Crashies are heavy voices in this system and calling style that they created together. Cutting one of them is like making FNS lose a large chunk of his hearing and his vision. You have to remember that having an established core with a lot of experience and understanding of an already existing stratbook goes a long way in this game.
I think the long term solution for this team is to slowly integrate better players into their system like they did with s0m, who slowly but surely integrated into the system and has his own voice within the team now as well.
The best possible pickup for NRG right now imo is Zekken, who excels at all three of Victor, Crashies and Ardiis' roles (Raze, Sova, Jett), and flex other agents. This would allow them to either replace ardiis and in the future replace victor and sign someone more flexible in the roles that they need once Zekken is integrated into their system.
