Very common advice but time will eventually heal everything. Yes it does, it will HEAL EVERYTHING. In the beginning you'll think, x days/months have passed still no improvement, does time even heal the deepest scars? But as soon as you realise that, the pain finally starts to go away, you'll regain trust over time. Everything will fall in its place eventually. Stay strong :)

I had to learn from myself and truly reflect on what I had before, and what I have now. When I realized that they were truly gone and will never come back, I took it upon myself to reminisce on the memories that were important enough to be remembered, embracing the melancholy and pain that came with it. I learned that it was okay to be sad and that this loss is temporary, as eventually we will all return to dust. To cope, I did a lot of walking, alone. Taking my walk was crucial for me, as I was able to observe everything around me. The trees, humans on their daily commutes, birds, the river running. This was a human experience, and by understanding it, I was slowly able to overcome the feeling of loss with time.

Your experience is your own, so I can't truly say whats best for you. What I know is that loss brings a void in your heart, your very soul. You just need to fill it up again to be whole.

I just feel like I never moved on from it, I just regressed.

Yes, I did regress in some way as well. You have to take the initiative to reflect on what is it that made you lose who you were.

maybe this doesnt work for everyone, but you just have to be strong and there will be a time sooner or later where you´ll just accept what happened and live with it, it will hurt whenever you think about it, but the pain will be thousands of times less painful than at the first weeks or months.
