Ik I bought this game late and my expectations for it were low due to the things I heard but holy fuck man, this game is a shambles. I think I have around 12-15 hours on the game currently over the past month and this shit is so fking boring. The game design is hideous and the gameplay is so unpleasant. I feel like these games are so out of touch with the previous main series game and have lost the essence of Pokemon.

Waste of 90bucks :(

I have played every mainline game and tho I have enjoyed some less than others, I have never been this disappointed. Probably the first Pokemon game I am not gonna complete.

Idk game freak pooped with the execution but tbh im just glad they tried something new this gen. Open world is probably the right way to go with Pokémon.

My problem is they literally nailed the open-world aspect with Legends of Arceus, like how can you fuck up so bad after successfully implementing it once.

it’s so so sad man they have this fantastic IP and they’re fucking it up so bad
I just want something as good as Black and White man…
That half 3D half 2D art style with the pixel art was easily the best art style in any Pokémon game, and it had great story and everything else on top

true man, Pokemon really peaked at BW and B2W2, My favorite Pokemon games and I still go back and play those games ever so often.

Facts. I haven't even gotten past the 3rd area because I got so bored. Pokemon fell off after Gen 5. Gen 6 was entertaining still with mega evolutions, same with gen 7 (although could get boring on replays with unskippable cutscenes) Swords & Shield is worse than previous games too but at least it was entertaining still for me. Legends Arceus is a masterpiece and the best they've done since Gen 5 then they dropped the quality again on Gen 9. Sad to say I won't be buying anymore unless they release another Legends game and that gets high reviews

I honestly enjoyed sword/shield even tho its critiques that's why I thought I would enjoy Scarlet and Violet too but I have currently cleared 2 badges and 3 titans and have no more desire to continue this game even tho the paradox pokemon look cool af.

Same. My friends hated pokemon after Gen 5. I was actually defending Gen 6 to 8 saying they are not that bad but this one I cannot defend T__T

watch the review/gameplay vids and see if it is something you would be into, I dont recommend it personally
