Have a quick question about how the Tokyo Groups are made. I get that they are split into two groups but is it randomly selected?
Manaphy [#2]If it is Riot no longer has the right to organize tournament seeding ever again.
Yea random bouts are okay for playoffs
Groups should be seeding based
chick [#3]They could be drawn from a list
Or they could be based on seeding
It should be
#2 Pacifc
#3 Emea
#1 China
#3 NAAnd
#3 pacific
#2 Emea
#2Na
#2 china
o i see. That makes a lot more sense. Maybe they might be drawn randomly. But two teams in the same region cant be in the same group but also have it be seeding based
iamtheh [#6]o i see. That makes a lot more sense. Maybe they might be drawn randomly. But two teams in the same region cant be in the same group but also have it be seeding based
Yea no two teams from same region should be in the same group, but why can they not do that with seeding based system?
Never mind. Just read the article by Eutalyx on Vlr
The GSL groups will be randomly drawn, with each of the groups containing one team per region (Americas, EMEA, Pacific, and China). The playoffs will be completely randomly drawn, with the only rule being that group stage teams will face an Advanced Seeding team.
gamr [#5]definitely seeding based. i imagine they place #1 pacific, #1 americas, #1 emea, and #1 china all in different groups. then they probably draw the #2 seed for each group, and #3 seed, etc
edit: i forgot americas and pacific only have 3 teams and china has 2 lol. i have no idea now.
No gamr, the rito games people suck coco at management- they’ll randomly draw it :(
