Riot had a lock in period where teams had to submit rosters which would be travelling and at that time Demon1 wasnt part of their original roster - now they cant change it

This guy has no idea what he is talking about. Its either he doesn't have a passport and subsequently no time to acquire passport or he doesn't have enough time to acquire a work visa. Or its both.

  1. Expedited US passports take like 2 weeks to be made.
  2. 26th May is when Riot gets to know which is the 3rd team qualifying for Tokyo. Are they going to file for work visas for everyone in the tournament? Simple google says Japan takes 5-10 days to process work visas.

Tell me, what does simple google say about the certificate of eligibility for a work visa. Last time i checked, that can take months.

Also you're pulling shit out your ass with the passport time. An expedited one takes 7-9 weeks.

Leo Faria talk about that on platchat. they had to submit the rosters at the start of the year and D1 was not even 6th man

US passports can be expedited to be made within 14 days if u have an international travel. Its not a passport issue cause Demon1 himself mentioned it in his stream that he isnt part of the original roster which is why he cant travel. Also its not a work visa that is required they need an entertainer visa for Japan - Riot can work with the embassy to process it faster but they wont do it. You obviously have no clue.

Id assume visa would be one of the reasons why an advance lock in period for rosters was required.. but not sure cause when they dont know which 3 teams qualify till this late - why even ask for the rosters so early in the tournament - just Riot things i guess.

so there no problem with him going to japan like traveling like how everyone else would. The problem is that if he were to go, hes getting paid to because its his job. And to get paid and work in a country u aint a citizen of, u need a visa and since he joined main roster late they dont got a visa for him for tokyo. idk y they cant just get him 1 rn like how long does it actually take.

but the fact that they dont know which is the 3rd team qualifying till 26th May - how would they file for a Visa for the players? They cant just be filing visas for all the teams irrespective of whether they are going to Tokyo or not. Its just random ass Riot rules.

Filing for visas for all the teams in case they qualify is exactly what they do.

But wouldn't that mean that C9 didn't get Runi and Jake locked in for themselves, Assuming that the end up qualifying..

the lock period was when rosters were locked, so sometime after lock/in and before the regular season.

Oh so I guess maybe they got it in in time, and EG should have been faster about it or whatever i suppose

i dont get it like roster lock and shit. if it's true because of the roster lock, why can't they use stand-in ? riot needs to make regulations that allow stand-in like in dota 2
