I genuinely didn't think he was that good last year. I was wrong.

i mean you're not wrong. he was hella inconsistent because his job was to w key

he wasn't but players improve you know?

also has to do with yay/marved being in the team last year and kinda put Victor in the shadow. I think Vic is taking up more responsibilities so he is stepping up with more calls and plays.

Victor was insane on NV before yay, they added yay and he fell off a bit, found some footing with Neon on fracture, that fell off and then he started playing more Kay/O and honestly wasn’t that great. Now in NRG he is back to pre-yay NV form, dare I say, even higher levels

bad k/d = fell off lmao. he's always been good, but when yay showed up, he had to become the selfless entry for yay, make space for him and become bait in order for yay to succeed because yay was their win condition.

I mean… his individual performance indeed took a dip. It’s one thing to not be able to get many chances for kills and end games 11/10, 9/9, 10/14 etc. that’s what happens when others are fragging out like yay. But you must not have been watching their games because victor would be underperforming for his standards a lot especially on Kay/o. He is back to his potential of being that guy for NRG core. Idc how you explain it

Victor is a demon, he took a backseat on OPTC because they had Yay but now that main frag responsibility has shifted to him he's showing what he's capable of now

He really is

he had to play the selfless entry on optic and die as a human drone to get traded. now that he's not spending all his time setting up yay for success he has time to shine. i honestly think NRG has an even higher ceiling than optic in this meta, ardiis is a much more freeform and aggressive player than yay so every player on the team can shine now.

I'm still not convinced on ardiis ngl. He hasn't looked consistently good on NRG imo, and what was fantastic about yay was his consistency. He was almost NEVER negative or unimpactful

yeah, i don't disagree with you, but yay was also on one of the most broken agents that has existed in this game, and his entire team supported him on that role. if NRG doesn't make it to Tokyo and ardiis plays really badly, or if he has no impact when they do make it to Tokyo, then i think his position on the team has to really start getting discussed, but I'd like to give him a little more time. if not, get a t2 duelist with some promise on the team, NRG would have clean roles if they picked up someone who looked great on both jett and raze.

I'd just love to see someone like Demon1/Sayf/Aspas in his position. I think NRG would genuinely be unstoppable then.

yeah, at the moment I would agree with you. but let's see if ardiis can step up.

We'll see! I still think NRG will probably do the best out of any NA team at tokyo unless C9 overcomes the first timers nerf.

i think the big issue with the first timers nerf is playing in front of a crowd on LAN, and they've already done that so i honestly think that NRG and C9 will both do at least fairly well at Tokyo.

IF they both make tokyo (which they 10000% should)

yeah that's the rub, they both gotta make it.

The big thing I could see fucking it up is if Furia has a fluke life game against Loud and somehow win there, then loud goes to lowers and beats one of C9/NRG. I really don't think that would be for america's chances at tokyo.
