what’s the point of playing out these playoffs if EDG and ASE are already qualified

it's for champions LCQ (https://liquipedia.net/valorant/FGC_Valorant_Invitational/2023/Last_Chance). still seems redundant for EDG and ASE to play though since they were already qualified.

that’s what I thought.

And with Champs months away why not at least wait till LCQ’s are close to starting or something

So if edg and ase are the finalist, who will qualify for champions?

Some people failed to explain, it's qualifiers for champions qualifiers, so this will decide which teams will play on a LAN to qualify for champs.
So the timing of it and everything makes sense, and FGC always had many acts that don't necessarily qualify for anything but is its own standalone thing.

THIS

Thank you my friend so basically this is qualifier for “LCQ” of China to where they would play on LAN to compete for Champ spots (I say LCQ because that’s what Liquipedia has the tournament listed as)

Exacly!
And EDG and ASE are not qualified for champs yet, they're only in Tokyo, they're qualified for the Qualifiers which will play out in july, but they'll have to finish top 3 in that to make Champs.

Okay so basically it’s perfect timing because playoffs are being played out and then Qualifiers will play out the same time as LCQ’s. W Vlr user good day to you man
