V1’s anti-strat

Hitherto V1 have run Zellsis on duelists, and did so in the match against CR as well, but seem to have completely caught Liquid off-guard with the kiljoy pick and all the strategic avenues opened thereby. This is something of the equivalent of Astralis choosing Vertigo against Liquid in the Starladder Major. Of course, now the proverbial cat is out of the bag, and other teams — including Liquid — can anti-strat this V1 composition — with the caveat that V1 may surprise by mixing up their comp again

He's saying V1 anti-stratted by picking killjoy in the first place.

While this is a cool strategic choice by V1, comparing it to Astralis vs Liquid at Starladder Berlin is ridiculous. The reason Vertigo was a big deal was that Liquid had repeatedly said they were the best team in the world on it. When you also factor in that Astralis and Liquid were the two best teams in the world at the time, and had one of the biggest rivalries the game has ever seen...this killjoy pick pales in comparison. Please don't compare this game to cs:go.

I have a different perspective actually.. Liquid is a very preparation-based team. they hard counter strat and their mid-round decisions are not on the level of other EU midround calling like FPX or Fnatic. When a team like Version-1 who are a very good well-rounded roster throws a curve ball especially considering the very oppressive meta. They also did not show the same comp against CR cuz they know liquid will read them if they use their main comp. what I'm trying to say is KJ was not a counter pick it is their main comp , V1 knew liquid's weakness (very dependent on a preparation) and used it.

This is an apples to oranges comparison

Comp antistrat is cool and all but the build up of a map antistrat like in the major is completely different
