Iceland prize pool should be larger. Valorant has become such a big game. Tenz probs earns more in a year.

You do know this isn't the main event of the year right? Iceland is just a qualifier for the main event of the year, along with some others like Masters Berlin, which will get you into the main event where the prize pool will no doubt be bigger...

This. Champions will be +1M for sure.

The mix of all three masters + champions is just sick money. Sometimes people forget this is a circuit and not only a tournament.

naah, it's decent, you need to wait VALORANT Champions 2021, there will be price pool insane.. I think 600k is insane price pool for game that is out only for year...

You're right, even csgo first major was only 250k

It's fucking massive. We have to remember while it's growing fast, the big money is still in CSGO.

What I would like to see if a similar system to MSI. MSI has a minimum price pool of $250k, then a portion of skins and stuff which usually results is pool near the $1mill mark at the end of the day. And we have to compare it to LoL, Valorant isn't a big as LoL, so to be even in the same ball park as League for a normal Major is massive. I would honestly be happy with it staying at $600K for a bit. I don't think people are realization how much that actually is for a game as new as Valorant. Before the pool was a announced, people were guessing like $250K for the pool in Masters 2. 1st place alone is almost that alone.

It's those shiny VCT points

This is just a qualifier for the main event.... most CS events have this much money on the line in total

$600000 for a qualifier is mindblowing. You are dumb if you disagree with it

"Minimum Prize Pool $ 250,000 USD (Approximately € 212,500 EUR)" It will be changed depening on how well the league shop goes they take a procentage from the shop aswell MSI last time was around 1mil

#22
GetsystheGr8

Yea my bad.... that was worlds prize pool... but the prize pool is dependent on how well a skin in the shop sells.... 25% of the revenue from the skin will be added to the prize pool.... its not actually 250k

Oh that's why, I was surprised by seeing such a low amount compared to viewership behind LOL ...

Btw what is difference between MSI and Worlds? do they also have circuit points for LOL and MSI is equivalent to masters?

Yeah Riot should have dropped 10million. Just like the best Esport of all time, Fortnite!

There are 4 majors in year, and one biggest event at the end of the year. 600k per major is really good, i guess World Champion (biggest event) will have much higher prize pool

#19

if they increase price pool to 2 million, it won't do anything anyway. No one is tuning in just because the price pool is larger.

Just look at league of legends, small price pool and still way more popular than Dota in viewership.

Only reason they are 'forced' to have such a big price pool compared to all other Riot event is because the FPS players are used to inflated CSGO pricepool where some event that run every other week has a price pool of 250k+

you can't just expect to compete with DOTA2 CSGO LoL R6s ect. in the first year.

wait, wasn't IEM Global Challenge $500k? that event was the whole show, this is a qualifier for the major in a little and this is the prize money???? prize pool for champions is for sure $1 mil and above

Combine all the prize money from all the regional Challenger series, all the Masters Events and + the Champions event, and tell me the prize pool altogether and think once more if that is a small prizepool that Riot is giving away to the players. Pls.

Imagine thinking Valorant is a big game... 80% of the community is just watching streams while only about a few thousands of People play the Game actually (each region). If it was big, you would feel and see it from Riots side. Riot knows the Game is just good for content creation and killing time and nothing else so far. if the Game was as big as you dream, they would have done a bigger and better Tournament and even add official Side events with attractive prize pool. Stop dreaming please and calling tenz would get more than 600K a year is also proof you have lost the ground to reality. And why you guys think Valorant orgs would pay their Pros a fortune to play this Game? What's the alternative for this people if they don't get signed to a VAL Team for $2K-$5K a Month? Nothing! They would sit at Home doing nothing, having just lame income. Don't forget people like subroza, tenz, wardell was nonames who failed in csgo and without Valorant they would now work at Walmart or somewhere else since they have no future in other games like csgo. And yet you think Orgs are fighting for Players they want by paying them a fortune... The average thinking of 12yo Kiddie Fanboys i would say.

If tenz would get $500K+ a year by playing VAL, you can be sure people like zywoo would move to NA just to take his place and also do well in his main game csgo. imagine getting rich by playing a content fps game that could be called "CS-Tik-Tok"

I respect CSGO because is very good game, but the way you talk about Valorant is very negative , seems like blinded hate toward the game. ''few thousands players each region'' is very dumb take . You can find about Valorant playerbase on Google, no need to make wrong point like that

valorant and cs are different games. pros that came from cs have transitioned their game from csgo to valorant, well most have. look at t1 they are great csgo players, but cant get it to work out together in valorant.

Nobody ever came from cs to Val because they liked Val more. All the Pros who came from CS switched to Val because they are banned from playing cs or they could never make the jump from tier 2-3 to tier 1 teams. For those people Valorant was the best that could happen! Without Valorant you would never know tenz, wardell, subroza, drone, hazed, dapr, sick... you would play fortnite know. Valorant is so easy that cs pros come over sometimes and hit immortal/radiant by playing just a week, laugh and leave for months again. Valorant is a good game but dont make yourself look like a clown by saying its a big game. im watching streams sometimes and i see people in high elo always play against or with the same people. this game has a lot of registered players but most of em just watch streams of their idols or spam !mouse, !mousepad, !keyboard, "whats your color settings senpai?".

Valorant made only something bigger and its twitch!

thats because why would u leave cs at the top?
some people stopped enjoying cs and left, like nitr0 and ethan, while others saw an opportunity in valorant that they havent seen in cs. cs players can easily get to high ranks because the shooting mechanics are very similar, no other reason. being good in ranked =/= being good in pro play

#42
RoadRunneR

do you really think nitr0 and ethan would still play if they would stick to cs? Sorry but in cs you get quickly sorted out when they feel like you feel to comfortable. im done here anyway. keep thinking nitr0 and ethan are cs legends who could have continued in cs for years like nothing happened. for those people Val is an easy found feast. they are dominating tier 2 cs players in a way easier game than cs and get paid well plus they have a good chance to create a streamer career since this game is being played by kiddies who "SHEEEEESH" and "WOW" random frags.

i have played css/csgo for over 10 years and can tell game is garbage. valorant is better. never said valorant is trash. just saying valorant isnt as big as cs and it never will be since the game is not a perfect shooter game since you win the rounds / games by not showing off in this game. do you think people who see the current meta with molotovs after plant make people think "damn, i want to play this game"?

csgo gives you the real fights, valorant is more a strategic game that lets you win fights with methods that are no fun to play against. also you have zero chance winning some rounds/games. so how is this game supposed to be the best?

Valve doesn't create orgs or sign Players. Its the regions itself who fail. if you have a sports club that invest to much in the wrong players and stuff they will have no money to support the game after a while. as you can see many teams disband in valorant too after a few failures.
