going off of an old forum for slots that was well recieved

slots would have been:
EMEA: 5 (+3)
NA: 4 (+2)
JP: 2 (+1)
LATAM: 2 (+1)
BR: 2 (+1)
KR: 1 (0)
APAC: 3 (+1)
LCQ: 5 (-1)

teams that would have auto qualified that didnt already
EMEA: G2^, Guild, TL
NA: TGRD, FaZe
JP: Northeption
LATAM: KRU^
BR: NIP
APAC: Bleed
^= teams that won the LCQ

teams that would have made it through the LCQ instead
M3C

Biggest issue:

  • Duration
  • Riot ideally wants to stream one game per stream, and this format probably needs several streams running at the same time.

Other than that the format looks great.

why the fuck do people still care about the number of slots? 20, 24 then 28? and it keeps going? just move on and think about the future (ie franchising)

Because the fact that the biggest LAN of the year (and one of only 3 for that matter) has only 16 teams competing is appalling.
16 teams gives you nowhere near the amount of competition and representation the end of the year tournament should provide. Korea and Japan only have one representative each, despite them both being very competitive regions, and Japan having one of the biggest Valorant fanbases.
It will improve next year but it doesn't change the fact that 16 teams isn't enough.

stopped reading at Japan and Korea being very competitive. the prior had one fluke run and the latter is literally a single team region
