GE franchising location

We don't really know the slots distribution in APAC (officially) yet but as far as a lot of orgs/journalists are mentioning, KR/JP seems to be getting most of the slots while SEA gets 3. There are also talks about SA and OCE getting 1 slots each for representation.

The thing to observe here though is the fact that GE does not only have a presence in India, but they used to have rosters from KR/SG and a BootCamp in Korea. If Korea gets 3 slots, which orgs possibly could make it to franchising?

To me only 2 names come to mind immediately - DRX and Damwon. All the other orgs are either smaller than GE or unable to compete with the popularity GE brings. What if GE is not aiming for the SEA/SA slot at all but rather trying to get one of the Korean slots?

All of this is assuming that some huge Korean org is not coming into franchising which does not have a valorant roster at the moment.

In that case, we will have only 1 Indian org (representing from KR), GE does not eat up SEA slots and it opens up opportunities for a possible second unknown org that gets the SA slot or Riot does not give SA a slot at all cause GE already made it. In that case, SEA orgs get 1 extra spot cause GE is out of the picture down south.

All this is speculation but could be a possibility especially because Rushindra (GE's owner) keeps mentioning Korea "Secret Weapon" in his streams.

That is if they decide to apply for franchising from Korea, At the moment they are both based in NA.

most likely Gen.G considering T1 just recently picked up an NA player. T1 hasn't really done anything to indicate they're moving to Korea, even if they applied to APAC franchising as well. Then there's Gen.G who released their whole roster.

ethnically.

ban's entire career has been based in NA, he has never played in Korea. He might've been born in Korea, and most likely speaks it fluently, but he has American citizenship.
Xeta and Autumn have been working in NA since January 2021, over a year ago.
Thwifo (even though you put him as NA) can't speak Korean and similarly to ban has only played in NA.
Munchkin is in NA right now and it's where he wants to be as well.
Plus you forgot two other staff that are Canadian.

Ban was picked up by T1 in NA. Xeta and Autumn were traded for an NA player in NA. Thwifo was picked up in NA. Munchkin is in NA.

It's more like

Steel NA
Thwifo NA
ban NA
xeta NA
munchkin KR
Autumn NA
stunner NA
branchies NA

even if you still count xeta and autumn as KR, it's still majority NA. Just because some players are ethnically Korean doesn't mean that T1 is going to move that entire roster and staff to KR to compete and play in KR. They wouldn't be allowed to nor have shown any intention or interest in doing so.

you can only import 2 player from a different region , so GE would need to make a roaster with 3 koreans and 2 imports for that

That is for the current VCT league. The full rules of franchising is not out yet. They might change all of this (which is a huge likelihood)
