Riot withholding updates?

So they announced tournament mode LAST YEAR, and riot finally stated that it would be released this year. I expected it to come out with episode 5 but now they stopped talking about it at all. Do you guys think its possible they're withholding it on purpose to respond to CS Source 2 release? And possibly with other updates/ game modes.

aaah okay, just seemed uncharacteristic of Riot/ VALORANT to go this long without a big update to the game ;c

Yeah, they also have a 1v1 mode planned long back according to a leaked image
But they haven't even said anything about it yet
