Top 8 gets into group stage
Other 16 teams go to the swiss stage where 8 make it. From then its just regular groupstage wirh single elim playoffs

guy probably meant csgo styled - 8 teams who accumulated most LAN points go direct top 16 swiss, while the rest play swiss to get into top 16. 8 swiss winners from top 16 qualify to playoffs

imo if we have 16 teams total and 8 teams in playoffs theres no reason a team could lose 2 matches in a stacked group and get eliminated

Yeah, but we know RIOT, expect the same format for this champions, groups and double elimination, so boring

With the upcoming franchising, this will probably be the best format. Also might as well make it like cs where there is challengers, legends, and champion stages
