great individual talent but as a team cannot achieve much
valorant: cned and alfajer amazing players in a non turkish team (i won't count SMB fluke run to masters), f0rsaken in non indo team
dota: whitemon xepher, fbz in non majority indo team (don't know much abt dota scene tho)
cs: xantares and w0xic was in big and mouz respectively, bntet and xccurate in tyloo (hard carries)

Turkey unfortunately has a coaching problem when SMB managed to qualify for Masters they had a respected European coach if you look at ranked for example most radiant players in EU are turkish however Tr as a region struggles in pro play

for the second part of your sentence it's the same situation for indonesia, lots of radiants and some in the front page of the leaderboard (if that means anything) and can't make it above 4th place in apac

fluke run to Masters?
Fnatic is doing the same right now but you look at them as gods

They haven’t been looking good recently though they dominated the groups but got 0-3 by Futbolist and I will go as far as to say they are not even top 3 TR right now

They're talking about old SMB

I know but you are the only SMB fan on this site so I was trying to start a convo

nothing can be said about the future state of the team

it all depends on whether we can get the slot in the league or not.

Brave and Jlerst are players who deserve to play for European teams.
You can't keep them on the team

Izzy is so goddamn inconsistent its frustating asf, wish they had just kept russz on jett when he joined the superteam

Russ himself wanted to play Sova and Skye

you can't force him to play Jett

fnatic made it to masters/champs four times, smb made it to one AND then bombed out on lcq, it's totally different????

no it is not,
no matter how many times you go

both teams beat all EU teams and go to the Masters, that's the point

i don't think you get it

fnatic has made it to almost all plans, proving their run was not a fluke, while smb made it one time, beat old PRX, then bombed out

returned home and then just.. died

They went from top 2 EMEA to not even top 3 in Turkey alone

Being the best or the worst doesn't matter right now.

Turkey still does not have a specific esports ecosystem and I hope Valorant will not end like VFSL

yeah and they only did it once in emea berlin playoffs hence why i'd say it was a fluke/honeymoon run?

It still sounds ridiculous to call it fluke...

Yeah they were strong at the time

maybe fluke is not the appropriate term? honeymoon run or biggest fall off and failing to perform in lan, which still reinforces my point that turkish teams struggles to be on the top of their region

yes you can say anything without saying fluke

i think fluke would be the wrong word

fnatic has been to all international events except berlin, they've looked solid most of the time. SMB made one international event and their greatest achievement after that was beating old paper rex, with all due respect i'd call it a fluke run or a honeymoon run
