dms aren't skill based matchmaking

posted about 2 years ago

I can understand that. I was just saying that TSM had similar (although smaller) hurdles to overcome. I wouldn't doubt that 100T will improve within the week to qualify either way.

The inclusion of gMd and Seven occurred roughly at the same time of 100t's restructuring.

I mean, yeah teams get better. Teams like NRG, Faze, and TSM improved immensely. V1 didn't get that much worse either with a sub (Though, you could argue that this was the case because of the raw talent they had) and in fact did really well.

Wardell was not really the problem.

posted about 2 years ago

Faze barely beat TSM so I can hardly count Faze > TSM as opposed to Faze >= TSM.

NRG is untested, but I think they would be better than TSM and Faze atm.

There was a point in time where Shahzam said that they didn't need a coach(?) I think. Or rather, they didn't need all the staff prep and management that 100t had because it gave him more freedom to conduct the team's practice and shit. I recall this from an interview last year.

So if people are accusing them of lacking a coach, they might be referring to that.

I mean, the game might have been cut down way shorter if Wardell didn't save v1...

posted about 2 years ago

Or...teams got better? V1's 5-0 run was shut down on the actual main stage.

posted about 2 years ago

Same argument applies for TSM tho.

I think the biggest change is gMd as opposed to Seven. I think that Wardell is still an upgrade over Seven just because of his experience. But either way, I'm happy that Seven is thriving as a young fragger and that TSM is winning.

posted about 2 years ago

Honestly, Wardell could probably fill Seven's shoes just as well. TSM was undefeated before the dropped wardell anyways (during the mickey mouse saga).

Though, still super happy with Seven's rise on TSM and the TSM win overall.

Yes they are back. Though, I would have preferred Wardell over Seven, but I'll take whatever is here.

posted about 2 years ago

I'm not as big of a fan either since Wardell is gone, but I still support them. Seeing them win rn (99% likely) is really nice.

posted about 2 years ago

I mean, didn't TSM lose like 13-3 last time on split against 100t? Split was never a strong map for them.

posted about 2 years ago

I mean, they were kinda on the rise for the past couple months (right after stage 1 and into mickey mouse tourneys)

+1 #TSMWIN

yesssssirrr

Probably not. Outside of the top 5, TSM, 100T, Faze, LG, Knights, and NRG are above them.

posted about 2 years ago

idc, I just want TSM to give either team a good ol' slap in the face with a TSM win

He basically invented all the strategies back then and pioneered how important Sova was in the game. He could perfectly play duelists like Raze and more support based characters like Sova. Literally, he was good at everything and basically the best flex of his time. 10/10

Steel to Sen would start up world war III at the Sen house.

peak valorant

posted about 2 years ago

It isn't about Bang v JcStani because they should have both been kept. Bang had good numbers and he is still a solid player.

posted about 2 years ago

And he's a fill. People overreact too quickly because...its valorant lmao.

posted about 2 years ago

I mean, look at how he's doing on icebox so far rn. He's saving them rounds.

posted about 2 years ago

Which game? It wasn't in yesterdays game against COM.

posted about 2 years ago

Wardell did fine on Chamber and had high impact yesterday. Considering he's a stand-in, he's doing pretty good. His sage was a bit rough compared to what people might have hoped.

posted about 2 years ago

I think they probably can.

posted about 2 years ago

Or perhaps Valorant has so much unexplored strategies that make it hard to counter every single one of them?

Valorant has too many variables to account for which is why it is so interesting.

posted about 2 years ago

Idk about t1, but I wouldn't doubt if she could play T2 at a competitive level. There are so much talent out there right now that it's really hard to take that post seriously, especially since it comes from the two players that trialed her.

I'm not trying to doubt her ability, but Valorant just has too many players in the scene for statements like that to be made. A lot of the players on the Guard I haven't even heard of and they randomly popped up one day onto a single team and smashed their way through the qualifier. Becuase of this randomness and massive influx of talent, I just can't take those statements fully to heart.

This roster, imo, was never shaping up to be a team that would win relatively quickly. It's full of "newer" talent that definitely needed time to adjust.

And while I can understand the philosophy of developing a strong team over time, this is really the LAST chance for 100t to realistically go international for the year, so going with the slow and steady approach seems to be the wrong move if you're trying to win.

posted about 2 years ago

Doesn't this kinda make him even less of a sentinel?

posted about 2 years ago

I'm a wardell fan at heart, but I didn't want to take out the TSM flair so I just left it as is.

posted about 2 years ago

no no, I'm a tsm fan, I can't ever say anything right!

posted about 2 years ago

I hope faze gives Sentinels a run for their money honestly but yeah lmaooo.

posted about 2 years ago

My problem with this is that BabyBay had insane stats last time but got shut down the second they went against a pseudo tier-1 team (TSM).

posted about 2 years ago

Its kinda sad but that's just the reality of people on these sites lmao.

RIP Lance :( but GREAT move by Valorant

posted about 2 years ago

wtf, he's 22? He's been here for so long as you said, that people actually forgot that he's young asf LMAO.

A lot of that reason is because he was the best AWPER in cs tho

Yoru (yor) top tier character, top tier waifu

TSM, C9, G2, and Fnatic are all up there for overall performance. I didn't include 100t since it is still kinda a new org in comparison to the ones mentioned.

posted about 2 years ago

Stewie doesn't seem like he's going to transfer yet.

posted about 2 years ago

DRX kinda threw on icebox, and split could have gone either way and was super close. Loud just kinda tossed g2.

posted about 2 years ago

Have you seen TSM fans? lol

Also, DRX are still strong favorites, right up there with Optic and Loud.

posted about 2 years ago

Wardell is supposed to be a reference towards Stephen Curry's first name, Wardell; he liked to awp and play long distance, similar to steph curry hitting 3's.

posted about 2 years ago

I thought it was an SAO reference to Zekken, the purple girl.

posted about 2 years ago

According to BR casters, the DRX match will be first as well.
