Just 1 Turkish team?

posted about a year ago

Volkswagen Arena would be the best choice if BBL doesn't qualify (in terms of getting it full) I think.

posted about a year ago

Probably not

Split, Bind and Fracture I think. Maybe in Ascent in combination with a KAY/O

Futbolist looked really solid on defense.

16 year old Turkish Sentinel talent. Played consistently very good in Turkey and VRL promotion.

Addition: I would have agreed with your take last year when we had 3 teams competing in EMEA. However, now we only have 1. Therefore I don't really see the point or difference.

I don't necessarily think that.

We have only two teams competing in challengers, currently even one. This means that most teams don't even play with Europe/CIS that much.

If we would have an own slot, we would have an own challengers, meaning more price money to be distributed within Turkey, resulting in more money for Turkish teams. And we would still have one team competing internationally against other regions (just instead of Europe, we get the chance to play against all regions). You can also look at the improvements Japan or Brazil made, even though they have their own slot. Therefore, I don't necessarily agree with this comment.

Give them the chance to compete in EU or TR as they prefer, I'm fine with that. Currently they don't get past the qualifiers though

A man can hope.

Also, you gave Turkey a spot in combination with MENA, it does not look like a MENA team will beat the Turkish teams

2 EU
2 NA
1 Japan
1 Brazil
1 LATAM
2 APAC
1 Korea
1 Turkey
1 CIS (If they can travel, otherwise add it to EU)

I believe that EMEA should be split up, CIS and Turkey should get their own slots, as they on their own are not worse than let's say Brazil or Japan. EU 2 slots, CIS & Turkey 1 slot IMO.

Liquid.. replacing FPX..

CIS game-quality wise definitely deserves an own slot. However, CIS does not have many viewers. These numbers are mainly organic fans who watched a very good Valorant game. When looking at CIS closed qualifier or VRL CIS viewer numbers, you can see what we are dealing with in terms of viewer numbers from CIS, which is not that much.

BBL - Fire Flux reached around 150k for a closed qualifier lower bracket final. That would mean this number can be reachable during important games in masters/champions

I think the main problem with the Turkish teams at the moment is that they do not stay together long enough together and change teams quite frequently. The perfect examples of this are CIS teams like FPX and NAVI, even though they did not have a good year last year, they sticked together, practiced a lot, made 1 small adjustment in the lineups and have started this year great. Gambit also did not have the best results in the beginning but by working hard and staying together they became one of the best teams in the world. Turkish teams should try to adopt this and focus more on sticking to a lineup and getting better together, as they do not lack firepower at all.

Turkish teams greatly resemble my username at the moment : "Volatile"..

It peaked around 130K on twitch

The Lower Bracket Final between Fire Flux and BBL currently has around 130k viewers.

Turkish viewership really is through the roof

Did not mention them as they will compete in the European circuit, but it will be very interesting to see what they will do in Valorant

What do you guys think about this team with Turko?

BBL and SMB look like the favorites, most likely to be challenged by Fire Flux and Futbolist. Young teams like Surreal and Fire Flux Young have shown signs of promise lately as well. It will also be interesting to see what the Ex-Sangal guys will do in Valorant.

Note: It will be online

Where did he say that? Can I find a clip on that somewhere?

posted about 2 years ago

Where did you read that?

posted about 2 years ago

Was mainly because they consistently lost against Sentinels, if they win a few in a row against them I would move them to tier 1. However, at this moment it looks like they can beat them on a good day, therefore tier 2

posted about 2 years ago

Tier 1 - The best (without recency bias)
Tier 2 - Can beat tier 1 on a good day
Tier 3 - Sub-top, could beat tier 2 on a good day

Tier 1:
Gambit & Sentinels

Tier 2:
Acend, Vision Strikers, 100 Thieves, Envy, G2, SMB,

Tier 3:
Team Liquid, Fnatic, Nuturn, XSET, V1, Team Secret

What happens to the LCQ if an EMEA team wins in Berlin?

For example: Gambit wins, they are already first in the circuit points standings, does this mean that the third in the circuit point standings also qualifies for Valorant champions?

posted about 2 years ago

hmm

I guess the fact that it is online also favours SMB
