Hey, just out of curiosity I decided to look on past results of Master Reykjavík, Masters Berlin and Champions and see what is the win-loss record of regions (against other regions), here are the results also the best and worst record against a specific region are below:

  • EMEA best record is 5-0(10-3) against SEA, worst record is 7-6(19-15) against NA;
  • NA best record is 4-0(8-1) against Brazil, worst record is 6-7(15-19) against EMEA;
  • LATAM best record is 3-0(6-1) against Brazil, worst record is 1-5(3-11) against EMEA;
  • Korea best record is 2-0(4-0) against SEA, worst record is 1-5(6-10) against EMEA;
  • SEA best record is 2-0(4-0) against Japan, worst record is 0-5(3-10) against EMEA;
  • Brazil best record is 2-1(4-2) against Japan, worst record is 0-4(1-8) against NA;
  • Japan best record is 1-2(2-4) against Brazil, worst record is 0-2(0-4) against both SEA and EMEA;

Couple of notes:

  • LATAM never played against Korea and SEA
  • Korea never played against Japan(at least not outside of APAC)

basically no region is doing good against EMEA
EMEA > NA > BR
EMEA > LATAM > BR
EMEA > KR > SEA
EMEA > SEA > JP
EMEA > BR > JP
EMEA > JP < BR

I don't think that there is a superior region, like there is only good and better teams. When NA was "dominating" all their maps were really close for the most part, and when NA was getting "dominated" it were mostly close maps and series too. SEN vs Liquid or Cloud9 vs Fnatic. Like EMEA has better teams right now but there really isn't a "dominating region" like there is in CSGO at least not yet.
