APAC region next year

If LAN is permitted, wouldn’t it be better to have APAC as a single region? I mean its now apparent that its somewhat like SEA=KR=JP=SA based on LCQ. The VCT stage would be like SEA, KR, JP, and SA each having 3 teams to compete for 2-3 slots to a masters event. Probably even including OCE teams here. Would this actually grow the scene in the minor region of APAC or not?
Thoughts?

I Think 12 team will work out
3 SEA
3 JP
3 KR
2 SA
1 OCE if rito want to include ausies here

I'm just thinking how many games the SEA teams would have to play, would they have to qualify out of their country, and then SEA and then APAC?

SEA itself is already cover a lot of the region, so I didn't quite like the idea of combining other region just to get a slot for the master. Just keep it the same way as it is now for SEA. combining KR and JP probably a right decision and better move for those region to grow, as for SA they should have their own qualifier next year.

I would assume this will come into effect once the Chinese scene starts to get going next year.

Lmao this online tournament isn't even over yet and people are already making wild, sweeping claims about regional strengths. Very interesting and definitely not reactionary takes from vlr yet again

But EU is somewhat comparable to SEA so i guess that should work our, right? Like EU in EMEA and SEA in APAC?

pretty sure based off population, oce should get 2 spots while jp and kr gets lesser

ah yes, the two international LAN events mean nothing regarding region strength

but after this online qualifier? KR = SA for sure

what do you people snort before typing to think like this, it's like your brain was scrubbed with sandpaper

Noooo, In my opinion SEA is much more complicated and already covers enough regions I dont like the idea of mixing it as one but hey it's only my opinion

I'm amusing SA will be a minor region next year where 2 teams qualify to play in the SEA circuits

You know Slots are decided based out of how strong the community is

but your opinion is right, the way the team have to fight just to get to SEA playoffs is tiring enough. I couldn't imagine what player have to go through if it was combined like this.

I'm pretty sure it's based on the population. riot assumes every region is of the same skill.

I was thinking on the line of EU teams, they would only be qualifying with EU or straight to EMEA rather than each country (UK, Sweden, Germany, etc) but then again regional pride is still pretty much present in SEA. I think i really missed that part lmao

yeah most people were arguing how riot should have given sa more slots due to their population while kr and jpn got more slots

i mean market potential and viewership plays a lot into what Riot does so it does depend

market potential for gaming in india isn't as big as China, USA, JP or Korea

you can look up research on this, look up Gaming Industry Revenue Share
