Ok now that all the memes have died down, trolls have gone to do some other stuff, I wanted to talk about SEA.

Goddamn SEA is scary, the fact that FS beat Nuturn handedly and PRX is a FULL tier above that...

It also puts in perspective how grateful we should be to have a team like VS.

As a csgo player I remember how sad it was when MVP PK were the only good team in Korea and would sometimes not win the qualifiers with the other SEA/chinese teams.

Thankfully, in Valorant Riot has blessed us with a scene and has tried their best to turn this into the next big FPS in Korea, I know for a fact that as long as the playerbase keeps growing like it is right now we wont ever return to the dark csgo days. Yes today SEA had better teams for now, but next challengers could be a totally different story. We saw that happen between masters 2 and 3. It all depends on how much effort the pros will put in to become better and we as fans can do nothing but support them till the end. Also this LCQ is not over so theres that. But lets start lowering our expectations for now.

Also the best result for us Koreans is that the strongest team goes to represent APAC. I know a lot of us are disappointed because PRX lost to SMB and that means our region as a whole is way behind EMEA/NA but I still believe thats not the case. This champions I hope PRX or NTH or FS or whoever qualifies shows that APAC is a extremely competitive region, that is whats best for the future of the scene.

It's good to note Riot's commitment to international play, allowing massive opportunities to teams in lesser prominent regions.

Yeah. The scene looks much better than the csgo days. I hope the Asian region would keep on improving :).

Agree, it's been a lot of fun to follow the evolution of regions that don't have much tradition in FPS games within Valorant, SEA and LATAM South are evolving a lot, Japan as well. I just feel sad because I feel that Brazil is not improving at the same speed :(

Brazil imo has the same exact problem asia had in csgo

smaller population, no good scrim partners

i think korea underperforming is a good thing here
korea doesnt get chances to practice to this caliber, the fact that fs 13-0d and damwon 1-2 ge is a signal that something needs to change if more teams want to compete against vs
korea comes back stronger whenever down like this, and with hai, spear, and sga confirmed to join will be the start of something new for kr valorant
only ups from here, this is good practice for all of kr even if they underperform, and let’s see what the rest of apac can pull off here in lcq :)

How is losing good for KR region? A Korea. Team going through lcq would be amazing for an upcoming region to get more eyeballs on it.

the experience youll gain by losing to other asian teams in the case of korea, where this is one of the few opportunities to learn and play with something at risk is a bigger payoff than making it through lcq with little learnt until champions
sometimes losing is what a team needs to make that extra step to its fullest potential! :)

From what I've seen the Filipino scene never looked this stacked ever in CS it was just a few teams competing and I'm glad rito gave SEA a chance to grow.

Hey sorry to be that guy , but all VS did in berlin was strat diff EU teams . Once NA and EU get used to VS playstyle i honestly don't think they will be performing that good . But this is just my opinion . You could see this in the GMB VS Vision strikers game , the first few maps looked 50-50 but once Gambit understood VS's playstyle they completed dominated them , also people will downvote me for this but i think Ascend only lost to VS because of strat diff .

“All they did was strat diff EU teams”
that’s literally the most tactically strong region imo ;-;

lets talk about how random valorant is, and I'm not pleased with it, clean stomps are not fun, looking back on the 13-0 with liquid, i wouldn't enjoy it much now, makes me uncomfortable about the state of professional valorant, 3 in 3 days? something is wrong

so true. This game has a constantly changing meta so I am excited to see what will happen

unrelated but I lowkey hoped for SMB to win so that team secret gets an easy ticket in.

hopefully prx goes to champions they look the best rn. that way if they perform decently at champions the world will take notice of the scene and not just the south asian bros arguing against eachother.

In a way Korea is responsible for this jump in SEA's strength, PRX credited VS a ton for giving them high quality practice which in turn allowed them to upgrade their game and then give back to the rest of the community.

People are obsessed with fighting each other but the truth is APAC getting stronger as a whole is only good for each region, korea included. The scene overall getting better means kr gets better practice, and then they symbiotically improve each other.
