this is a reply to pokedyo's thread.

So... GMT. Means Greenwich Mean Time/Coordinated Universal Time(UTC). So it automatically converts it to your time by adding the amount of hours off it is from GMT/UTC. So if you are EST. Then it should be GMT - 4 and so on.

They could theoretically use the name that you use for that time zone. But it takes longer to code. And also sometimes multiple countries have different names for the same timezone.
