EU needs more tournaments for their tier 2 teams like Heretics, NiP, Alliance, Vitality, BDS. These teams are already out of VCT for the year. No Berlin, No LCQ, No Champions. And for the next 5 Months they will be playing 0 Tournaments unless some appear out of no where. Like how NA has some tournaments like Nerd street summer championships and winter championship. Thoughts?

Yeah I was thinking about the Blast tournament. I saw it in Liquipedia and then Liquipedia tweeted that it wasn't real.

That's the problem when you have a competitive scene where it's not franchised like OWL or LOL. The top teams are on an excellent stop while the bottom ones are suffering heavily. However, won't these teams be able to compete at Last chance ??

No, last chance you need champions points to qualify for LCQ, here’s the list rn https://liquipedia.net/valorant/VALORANT_Champions_Tour/2021/Circuit_Points/EMEA

so, for now, Fnatic, TL, Acend and Gambit are 100% in for Last Chance?

Agreed. This is a problem in a lot of regions. There should even be more 3rd party teir 1 tournaments. More chances to see your favorite teams play.

I hope so. My only worry is them doing the same format of LOL to Valorant, because I feel that LOL has fewer international tournaments than it should have, which lead to a bigger gap between regions.

Basically, every region has its own league, usually franchised, divided into two splits. The top teams from every region qualify for an international tournament. So, the teams that qualified in the first Split plays on MSI, while those who qualified in the second split play on Worlds. The biggest problem with this format is that because the international stage is much shorter than the regional one, with time, the gap between regions only grows since "worse" regions rarely train/compete with better ones. This situation leads to the almost hegemonical power of the Chinese and Korean, while no team outside those regions can compete with teams within them. To sum it up, this over regionalization leads to an uneven balance of power between regions.

Hopefully not. I think they'll try to keep the VCT model with 4 international majors per year. With 3 masters and 1 champions.

THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN!

Why would intel, MSI etc want to host tournament when the top teams are all away competing in masters/champions

I was thinking in the downtime of the vct. For example, there was a three week break or something like that after Iceland. Why not have a tournament then?

Riot is signalling that they enjoy having multiple international tournaments in a year with the current VCT format. However, when Valorant becomes a franchise, that in my opinion is just a matter of time due to the franchise model being better money-wise than others in the market, maybe the teams will pressure Riot to have a more stable calendar in order to become more profitable. If this happens, one of the Riot actions could be reforming VCT to have more regional matches because those types of matches are cheaper and take less time, similarly to how soccer is managed nowadays.

there isnt a big downtime though apart from the iceland one, the big downtime is from berlin till next masters for teams not in LCQ
