VCT Schedule (Thoughts)

So right now, VCT basically lasts the whole year with a ton of qualifiers, and only 4 LANs, while CS:GO has LANs basically every month. Obviously this ensures that the most qualified teams get the most points, but is a really long process, and discourages third-party TOs to organize events or maybe even LANs because VCT goes on the whole year, beyond Tier-2 tournaments. Tier 1 teams like NV, XSET, 100T, or others that barely miss the LAN have nothing to do but wait for 2 months, and Tier 1.5 teams like ABX have it even worse at the end of the year because they don't have enough circuit points to try for the Last Chance Qualifier, so they really have nothing to do for the rest of the year except maybe the two NSG Summer and Winter Championships. How big of an issue is this, and what are some fixes/additions to encourage third-party TO Tier 1 tournaments and maybe third-party TO LAN events?

I think this problem will be only this year . From next year riot would have figured it something out

I don't think they'll encourage third party LAN events but they'll most definitely help tier 2 TO's. I'm guessing what they'll do is a semi natural growing scene. Where if a TO is reliable and can work well they'll just support them and add them into the VCT probably. I think Riot wants to have control over most of the stuff in the scene so I wouldn't be surprised honestly if all events are supported by riot and partially hosted by riot. I'm guessing they are trying to make sure this'll work but have as much control over it as much as possible because that was at how ignition series came to be and honestly I think it's going to work a similar way for years to come.

Do I think it's a bad thing. Honestly. Not. I think they might need to add some events in between but I'm guessing Tier 3 events will just probably be for fun and like done by outside TO's and the nerd street gamer weeklies are doing really well for the Tier 2 events. I don't really think they need to encourage third party TO's to create tournaments.

The only thing I guess they might want to add is a collegiate league and they kind of are already doing that.
