Whenever im on social media, people have their flags in their name/bio. You see lots of german flags, russian flags, brazilian flags, viet flags, chinese flags, indian flags everything but I have almost never seen an american use the USA flag in their name/bio. Is that just not something yall do over there? Or have i just not seen enough americans?

You're gonna get bullied for your geography skills online if you have an American flag

There’s multiple reasons. #5 is one of them, but another is that most Americans on social don’t actually interact with non American content or people. vlr is different because it’s an international community. But the average American high school or college student doesn’t talk to anyone outside of the country. Therefore, they don’t need to use the flag in their bio

Just not common here to do that. Also, there are a lot of us with very diverse backgrounds within the country so it doesn't feel like a defining feature. I would put my state flag in there though

People in USA would rather represent their heritage/countries their ancestors came from. That's why you see so many Americans with flags of countries they decend from even though are born and raised in Ameica (EX tex, governor, ban etc)
