Time to vote. So who wins best esports ? Personally probably league again this year. T1 and Faker redemption storyline kinda goes hard if he wins.

Esports player of the year for me: Faker
Coach: Potter
Hoping fnatic or EG team wins but idk.
GOTY: Baldur's gate 3 and its not even close.

What's your pick?

Alan Wake 2 BABYYYYYYYYYYY

2 people played the og alan wake and now 1 person has played alan wake 2 and its def not me.

Coach is potter and e-athlete shouldve been leffen imo.

Team can be EG cuz of the underdog run but fnc deserves the trophy more and prob neither will win

Tears of the Kingdom was better than Baldur's Gate 3, recency bias is crazy.

nah baldur's gate 3 is better in pretty much all aspects. Its not recency bias , i won't be surprised if it sweeps like 5-6 awards.

The writing in Baldur's Gate 3 was way overhyped. Lots of the dialogue was just, "It's dark, so it must be deep and profound." A lot of side quests were meaningless and simple. Also, for literally no reason, a lot of characters had to be snarky and just be the same personality with a different voice and backstory.

I also didn't feel a lot of emotional weight in a lot of the story. The only part that I actually felt was extremely sad and I felt legitimate empathy for was Astarion's backstory with Cazador where you could make him a vampire lord, that story was really well done.

i mean fair enough i think its your personal opinion but i think it really pushes what an crpg can be which is kinda rare genre of game to be popular nowadays.

Yeah, although, D&D has made more or less of a resurgence in the past couple of years because of Stranger Things, which I personally think played a role in why a lot of people who traditionally wouldn't play this style of game tried it.
