amazing for esports
hope more organizations take notes on how to properly monetize yourself and gain fan trust and loyalty and expand off it

Your org is broke? You're not making money? Just build a fucking arena

you need money to build an arena, hence why I said they need to monetize themself and expand off it (build an arena and make even more money off it). kcorp is not broke and will continue to not be broke if the arena does well because they are properly expanding their business and having strong revenue streams.

A lot of orgs have technical funding, as in their owners are rich, the thing is all esports orgs are an investment, so you're going to lose money

KC feels and is rightly justified that spending more money on themselves is worth it, The Guard are a rich team, but the owner doesn't feel it's worth the investment HUGE difference

KC probably doesn't go positive in spending yet and if it does it's not a large amount

all esports are investment, however there have been some that have broken through and made money. the ones that have advertised locally, had a strong fan-base and made lots of content to build a following. they also developed rosters and sold off players rather than just buying the best every single season. KC most likely doesn't go positive yet but they are building up to it and building revenue streams which is the largest part that I think other orgs aren't doing or aren't doing as well.

When riot starts selling streaming rights and arenas become popular, teams will make money

Im pretty sure it's a huge stream of income for league teams (streaming rights)

I'm talking about all esports investments, not just Riot based ones. However, agreed that having streaming rights will help a ton and it'll be rough until then.

this is like saying hope more people learn from elon musk to how to become a multi billionaire...

learning from them is valid but u cant just replicate what they are doing they are at this moment more like an anomaly with how they have managed to penetrate the french market ...

not saying to replicate it, but they for sure need to learn and take notes. karmine monetized having a streamer at the helm and advertising their organization internationally and especially locally extremely well, similar to traditional sports clubs. on top of this, they have great rosters with lots of up and comers and did not spend insane amounts of money on any roster. they also, like just announced, used crowdfunding to build an arena which they can also monetize. it's clear there are steps these organizations can take to replicate the success karmine corp has, they just haven't.

would be cool if they could have their VCT games there, each other team travels for one game a season

Really cool idea by Karmine Corp to create some more revenue.
It does feel like Karmine Corp would be the one of the only teams to be able to pull this off successfully.
Karmine have a very strong fan culture in france.

I hope they play some of their "online esports here" like rocket league qualifiers (that would be hype)

not even much "richer" or "bigger" orgs can mobilize their fans like that. going to events, buying tickets, buying the merch, their fans aren't merely viewers, they are actively participating in supporting the org. i feel like this is more common in streamer-run orgs.

I wonder if riot will ever hold an event this large. Japan has done it, now KC
