What Happen to The Guard?

what actually made The Guard canceled by Riot to play in the 2024 franchise league? I mean what made the org not agree to a contract during the deadline?

Riot killed another promising team because of their shitty system.

This would be nefarious, but it seems like KSE wanted to get out of esports entirely. They probably already had commitments to the guard roster, so they kept them on for as long as they had to. They saw the ability to not respond as a way out without having to maintain the roster, so they probably just chose to intentionally not agree. I have no source, but I just can't see a world in which KSE wanted to agree, and they just forgot the deadline.

if i remember correctly they fired most of their staff except for their roster and social media guy because the owner doesnt want to invest in esports anymore.
