Although people talk smack about Leo Faria, I think this is a good change they are making if not totally revamping the current scenario.. +Academy system poggers. Read the blogpost.

Also people can no longer says The ascension teams should play in LCQ for Champs since the Ascension tourney will happen after Champs

Feels promising but we have to see. The main complaint is really lack of events

looks good imo, now what we're really missing are more off season announcements

Calendar
The second challenge we saw this year was the calendar. We ultimately don’t believe that Challenger teams are getting enough reps, which hinders their ability to develop.
For the many teams that don’t qualify for Ascension tournaments, their season ends in early June. That means more than half of the year without an official tournament to compete in. I said before that I believe that a long offseason is good — it gives pros time to rest, teams time to experiment with new strategies and players, and fans the opportunity to miss the sport. But the current break is too long. We expect to have a good amount of 3rd party tournaments during the offseason, but we understand teams need a longer calendar to justify an entire operation.
An unfortunate reality is that teams in this tier come and go depending on their results and success in Challengers. But that’s the nature of developmental and access leagues in every sport, and something we don’t expect to change. VALORANT is one of the most competitive esports in the world; getting to the top is supposed to be hard. Many will take a shot at ascending, but only the best will succeed.

did they just say they dont give a fuck about teams losing early and having nothing more to do in the year? i thinkk they are making the calendar wider but idk dude it doesnt seem like they care at all, poor choice of words ngl.

from what i can tell, the season (may) be extended, and the only real difference between this year and the next is there will be for fun tournaments after ascension

well what we begged for ig, but still kinda fucked up forr teams who dont make it to ascension tourney, also there is still no reply about if they are going to make the americas ascension have more slots, because 6 is a joke for developing our region´s tier 2, specially if half the matches are just seeding.

WAIT WAIT

In the same vein, we will move Challengers Ascension to September, after Champions, so it has its own moment in the spotlight. We believe Ascension is one of the most exciting moments of the year in the VCT, as it’s the culmination of a path to pro journey and has incredibly high stakes. This change will better position it in the calendar and allow it to shine even more.

holy shit thats literally what i suggested on a thread here, wtf do they read vlr? or im just overthinking it too much?

Honestly, this shit looks hopeless. No org in BR should have a roster outside of those in VCT, is just a waste of time and money.

nt leo faria but you killed tier2 when you allowed for a single transfer window year long. And let me explain:

Tier2 teams have a few choices when it comes to revenue in a franchise league game. It's either the tier2 is stable enough in terms of viewership and sponsorships that by competing alone, they have income. This is currently not happening, and that's why plenty of orgs are dropping.

The other choice is selling their players to tier1 clubs. But that is also impossible, as the only transfer window is at the end of the season. By then, either your contracts have ran out, and the tier1 teams get the players for free. OR you're risking on paying wages for a roster that won't play for another 6 months. And many teams choose to drop their players and save those 5x6 wages instead of hoping some team will splash the bag for them. And then you don't even know if they'll come back to the game.
