Sometimes it's necessary to drop the op completely for a rifle, especially for retakes.

Awping during retakes is decently risky since it isn't CS where you can make a quick play with the AWP. Its probably best if you picked up a rifle for retake but the AWP can work if you can get a pick off someone trying to play long or trying to hold an angle on CT while you are playing heaven.

ya but i see many high ranked players move and kill someone with an op like do they counterstrafe or just wait for movement error to reset

A lot of people counterstrafe just because of CSGO instincts but in Valorant, you can simply just let go of your WASD key. You can also slow peek by crouching every second or so while holding your movement key. Typically, you can get a pick off like this because an AWP will almost always win a direct 1v1 with another gun. Usually when retaking, there's a player playing long and might even peek towards spike occassionally, which can be a free pick if you time yourself. You can also be a bit risky and entry with an AWP while your teammates watch other angles for you (tho this isn't recommended).

Also high ranked players are great and all (like plat-dia +) but a lot of them dry peek an AWP because there are a lack of callouts in a ranked game.

In terms of improving your awp, you need to improve your reaction time and flicking for the most part. You can do that in the range by flicking towards bots (on practice). As for reaction time, only experience, a better monitor, and lower ping can help with that lmao.

Try flicking to the range drones from a distance. Try flicking up, down and sideways. This would help a lot. You can also start by flicking up, down, sideways to stationery bots. Retaking with Op is very difficult unless you are wardell.
Another thing that I find not so common yet very useful is the distance of holding an angle. You should not usually hold an angle very tight. Hold it so that you can kill the enemy even if he wide swings.

DM with op, but HOLD W dont stop moving you will significantly improve in intense situations where speed is of the essence so you will improve your quick scoping, do not make the mistake of playing DM with op and holding angles thats the EASY part you need to get a kill keep moving spot someone stop quick scope and onto the next. Its ridiculous how many players deathmatch ineffectively by just sitting holding angles or focusing on using sound, try not to look at radar turn down the volume (i dm with no volume but u can have it on a low setting if u want) then listen to music and you will improve so much. Practice flicking in the range 200 bots a day.

if u want to op well u nEEED to practice flicking to your weak side. My weak side is to my right, and I miss a lot more when i flick to that side. Practice it a lot, get super well rounded

Best way to practice OP especially in retake is to play with OP when you play as attacker and be a little more aggressive.
That's the hard way but will be effective after 10-20 games. Worst it will work after 50 games.
That way will force your way of thinking how to use OP in different situation, and how to positioning as OP-er.
Just don't forget be a little more aggressive, brave, and more carefull.

Go Marshal only in Unrateds. This will help your flicking a lot.
