yay wasnt the problem, more of jakee and runi were the solution. also idk why they even got yay when they have leaf like why ruin yays chance at t1 val like that you know what youre buying and its a second jett player
you don't need a solution if you don't have any problem..
yay was indeed the problem, not because his bad or anything like that, its simply because of role issues. not that hard to grasp.
also imo, the reason why they bought yay in the first place was because they wanted experienced t1 duelist player (--and some clout ig) but it all came crashing down when yay hasn't adjusted to the current meta. he's still stuck in his passive gameplay (a given since he's been playing chamber on a high level for a year), C9 didn't have the patience and decided to do the most risky yet worth to try roster changes.
read my reply again, I edited it to answer his question.
also yes they only played 2 game, but scrim exists, C9 probably thought it wasn't worth it to wait for yay to adjust or something along the line. now the real question is between the two, leaf and yay, who would c9 keep? obviously leaf is the better answer, solely because of his agent pool (yay may be the better jett but jett isn't meta in every map).
I mean, I have been rating Leaf since he used to main raze before Xeppa even joined so I dont really mind putting him above Yay. Its just that I believe it was more of a financial issue cause it was a much bigger risk giving 2 rookies time over Yay but hey it paid off in the end but I think c9 would have still been good either way. Just too much firepower on this team to be bad.
