that franchising sucks and has 0 benefits. Most good players/teams will be stuck in t2 forever while frauds play on the biggest stages valorant has to offer. Open circuit clears this dog system any day of the week. That is all. Goodbye.

Orgs have more financial support, I'll just leave it at that

orgs with *large devoted fanbases will always have financial support. Almost all the big orgs are in franchising anyway, so the system isn't really helping growing orgs. Negligible benefit.

You do know the big orgs are consistently losing money and could fail at any time. What we need rn during this esports economic crisis is stability not development. Lots of talk like tsm leaving league, clg just disbanding and 100t doing layoffs, when we can get a stable economic situation we can start focusing on making better opportunities for new and growing orgs. Also what about m80 completely new org with promising results that is a complete contender for next year franchise slot?

Most of these orgs do not need franchising to do well/crumble imo. What most investors look for is a large dedicated fanbase and online presence, which the big orgs will retain regardless of whether or not they are in franchising.

as for m80, what if they don't make it tho? My point is there is a way bigger window of opportunity for growing orgs to make top placements in open qualifier circuits -> more recognition -> more fans-> interested investors.

Sure, riot's implementation of franchising is decent, but it doesn't really present any huge advantage over open quals, and is not necessarily a viable solution to the problem esports is currently facing.

if the players are that good in T2, they will get scouted for a T1 team.

far too few spots so a large bulk will still be confined to mediocrity for the majority of their careers. also incentivizes more players to statpad, especially if they feel they are on a hopeless team

open quals easily clear this yucky system that hampers the influx of new talent

stuck in t2 forever? nah. this is only the first season of franchising.
t2 players can show themselves off and get picked up when transfer window open.
eventually all the good players will end up in the tier1 league. it just wont be immediate from the first season
it's good for the scene that they prioritise orgs that are financially stable and can offer to pay tier1 salary, (apart from c9 i guess).
