I think the purpose of that dart is that it gives a ping after the smoke gets taken back so the enemy is not able to shoot it. And the flash is probably flashing people holding B long. Just doesnt feel like ZETA would make such "mistakes" and looks like they have been putting in time in customs. No hate to the casters as it is something that one doesn't realise on the first look.
