Franchise is garbage

I don't know why people are excited, LoL is slowly failing at least in the west and Valorant is way less popular than LoL. Riot is making a new Overwatch scene with a difference, there isn't a west/east regions but Americas, EMEA and Asia (almost the same). Valorant had potential to become a #1 esport shooter but Riot is fcking everything. In Europe we demanded a champions league for LoL and they brought us franchise, now 2 of the teams with more fanbase (KC/KOI) can't join. I'm gonna watch how this develops but I lost my hype of watching an esport to become the best.

but it will not really, its like watching the NA/EMEA group stages before qualifying to a Masters. But without the endless qualifier rounds, that get no views. Plus we will see teams get the best players from orgs that won't make it, making their teams even better. So actually good players against good players.

The first year of "franchising"/partnerships will be the best. After that we will see if it has effect on T2 talent coming through

I am not sure, but didn't valorant say they will add/replace teams in franchising after some periods of time

teams like KC KOI not being able to join LEC will not be the case in valorant since it's not franchising, the orgs won't own any spots, they will just be on a time contract with rito. If Riot wanted to kick a team, it would be much easier than in LoL

No idea how LoL maintained solid popularity in Europe and NA throughout all these months since corona outbreak

Must be fun to waste time on LEC low tier games, just to see your teams get shitstomped by asians on both internationals per year

one important point ur missing is, teams arent paying any fees to get in
so riot has full control to kick out and bring in new orgs if they consistently dont perform or have lower viewers
