Stop the trash argument that franchising will kill the tier 2 scene when the only region with a decent and healthy Tier 2 scene is in EMEA which is FRANCHISING.

rare supernova L

emea doesn't have franchising it has a promotion/regulation system. other regions should adopt it

only if they have that during franchising, that would make sense, cus otherwise if the top VCT level scene is the same 10 teams in each region. Its gonna get really boring and shitty real quick.

Like it would make sense if

  1. Franchise Leagues are 12-16 teams
  2. They have VRLs as the tier 2 scene to keep that scene from falling apart (may or may not also be franchised)
  3. Promo/Releg system between VRLs and VCT Franchise to prevent the same top teams every event

VRL tournaments like VRL Spain, French, Polaric etc... have a franchising system and it's a great model for the tier 2 scene
And when you say that there is a promotion system in VRL, what prevents the new franchising format for tier 1 from having it too?

wtf

because franchising is almost Definity going to exclude the possibility of promotion/demotion. Your right that international franchised leagues + vrl tier 2 scene would be great but thats probably not going to be how it actually works

I never said it was being prevented, I meant if Riot opted NOT to implement it that it would suck more than it already is going to
