I think if CS has shown us anything, and unhappy tier 2 scene that is cut out of the competitive mainstream will hurt the game in the long run. Riot needs to maintain a tier 2 scene, in some way or another when they franchise the VCT.

People keep comparing Val franchising to CS tier 2 shitshow. Watch what Riot has done in League, new talents come into the LEC every year and soon Karmine Corp is joining the LEC after spending couple of years in the tier 2 scene
