It helps t1 connect with their korean fanbase a bit, It gives them a bresh of fresh air in players and coaching, also they need NA players because of regions and stuff yk. Another possible advantage is that it gives them a foundation if they decide to move to asia if maybe riot doesn't give them a NA franchising spot
