okay cool.

+k1ng
+Zest
+Rb
+stax
+?

can they just reunite and find a 5th to get as close to the original dream team as possible? replacing glow is pretty much an impossible task since there just isn't any player that will have the same wealth of knowledge and experience. but anyone that can fit the role and gets along with the rest of the players would be enough. i hope they actually talk to each other about it being a possibility. it would be really dope to see them play together again.

i can already tell you're not a good player.

i dont mean that in an offensive way, but literally, i almost am 100% certain that you are low elo and have never played in a competitive environment, let alone, high elo.

edit: yeah, you have an account that's not even 28 days old yet, and have over 200 forum posts. pretty good indication of an elite keyboard warrior who likely has not even the basic understanding of fundamentals of the game & team play, but still will backseat analyze teams as if they know/are better.

This is gonna sound crazy, but a great core 4 of korean players would be:

Zest
k1ng
Rb
stax

5th would have to be someone that plays controller, and has the right set of skills, experience, and authority to in-game lead a team. someone like glow, but glow retired :(. Not sure who would fill those shoes in. Almost reminds me of this one korean team that i was once a huge fan of.

Also, I wonder if there was a falling out between k1ng and DRX the org, but when Zest and Rb were released from the roster, i remember seeing k1ng tweeting something like 'good things will come' or something along those lines. i might be misremembering, but i got the sense that maybe there is a little resentment? Idk if k1ng chose to leave due to incompatibility issues with the new additions or if management decided to take him out of rotation, but if the latter, I personally would feel a certain way if i got benched after a small team slump due to huge meta changes, and not adapting quick enough, but still had the most undisputed dominant runs that Korean VALORANT will probably ever see.

I remember when they announced that three, no, FOUR new players were coming onto the team after glow announced his retirement, that it truly was the end of an era. They needed 1 new player to just complete the roster, but instead brought in buzz, mako, beyn (trainee), and then shortly after Lakia as well too, yeah, nothing about those announcements made me feel excited to see what the new org and squad would do.

I'm speculating here, so i could be completely full of shit since im literally just making wild assumptions so take what i say with a grain of salt, but if i had to guess, k1ng may have had a little resentment/chemistry issues with either management and/or new additions like buzz/mako. i have no idea though. All I know is that it never sat well with me when k1ng & Zest were benched, and would not be part of the starting lineup for the new org when they were both incredibly strong role players for Vision Strikers.

They were never the flashiest players, but they were consistent and reliable players both offensively and defensively, and Vision Strikers would not have had the same level of success without them. Vision Strikers literally was redefining the game on a macro level with their coordinated use of util and executions, and i think a lot of teams and regions that were sleeping on korea as a region started paying attention and started learning from them.

On a side note, the game has changed a lot since then since more agents/maps have been added, but I actually feel like the game has actually gotten more boring the more agents that have been added. There are just too many new and unavoidable ways of getting CC'd or impaired in some way making the game feel increasingly more stale and slow, and not even in the methodical way. its just slower out of necessity, and because you need to bait or wait out the enemy's util. Also, im just going to say it, but Ascent was pretty much the only good new map they made. Sunset is fine, definitely better than lotus and breeze, but I think I'm only drawn to Sunset because the B bombsite has almost the exact layout as Split's B bombsite.

Sorry for the yapping, but

TL;DR: Make Vision Strikers great again.

i miss vision strikers :(

pretty certain that glow hasnt been coaching or assisting the players since he retired. i think the coach role is just an honorary position/title that he holds. i think argency does more as the secondary coach to drx after termi, but im not really sure how the responsibilities and tasks are delegated.

yeah its pretty lame that people are trying to clown termi.

the amount of people with literally zero competitive experience playing on a team that recycle and repeat what some other braindead backseat analyst on reddit said is just way too high. this has always been a thing for as long as esports has been around, but it probably has gotten worse over time.

i wouldnt take what anyone has to say here seriously because pretty much anyone that has good insight to offer isnt posting it here.

I also recognize the irony of my post, but do what you want with it.

unfortunately, most people will continue to undervalue his contribution as a player even though he played a major role in Vision Strikers ultra successful run.

tbh, DRX never found what they lost back when k1ng and glow left the roster. I still dont think they found the missing components that they're looking for. Even though the newer DRX lineup technically had a better international tournament result, I feel like DRX as a team has been on the steady decline after k1ng and glow left esp when it comes to the creativity in strats and execution. They lost what made them truly unique and super fun to watch long ago.

basically, vision strikers & quantum strikers 2.0 -- going to be exciting to see. i really wish more details came out on k1ng's departure, and if it was his choice or if he was being notified that he was possibly going to move to the bench or 6th man as Chamber became the main sentinel in the meta at the time.

i think k1ng and zest were important cores to vision strikers success back then. k1ng was such a reliable anchor and sentinel player. And Zest consistently had so much impact when he played Sova. Or even sage on split. But on sova, he would always time his util to provide info at the perfect time. He wasn't the flashiest player, but he was reliable / can op / fulfilled hisrole perfectly. A lot of Rb's success on jett was because of the synergy with Zest.

would like to see stax back on breach on split too, and maybe even see Rb play sage on split. havent been a fan of some of their team comps lately. its clear no one on the team is a comfortable KJ/Cypher player, and DRX is just barely passing by. ive been on the VS hype train since day 1, and it hurts seeing a team be so smart sometimes, but also be so...dumb. i love termi since he was part of part of project kr / wemadefox with glow, but it feels like glow is just a figure head coach. they could probably use his insight.

overall, it just feels like drx became more sloppy in terms of strats/execution/team comps.

it's all good. i respect your opinion, and i'm not here to change anyones mind. i watch most of the regions play, and have an extensive fps competitive background. i think any former pro cs 1.6 players that are either still playing or in a coaching/analyst position will agree that VS is a scary team, and definitely a team that doesnt get the credit or recognition they deserve.

people dont realize that KR was considered a S tier region for CS at a time. weMADEfox took the international scene by storm with multiple 1st place to top 3 finshes at interntional lans while NA couldnt even get out of groups or win an international match for years since CPL 2005 or something. I see the same arguments and reasons repeated and recycled by people who never played competitively, and often just regurgitate the same opinions of other backseat analysts who also have zero competitive experience and only watch NA. I'm not saying you're one of them, but to still think DRX VS is not even likely to get out of groups is pretty wild.

but yeah everyones entitled to their own opinion. imo, they look strong and will most likely get out of groups.

drx vs with zest back in rotation as their sova (which they desperately lacked and needed at berlin) have a really good chance at winning the whole thing. Putting Rb on skye/sova was weird as f, and w/o Zest on sova, they just didnt look nearly as clean on executions/retakes without him. Putting Rb on skye/sova was also not a great choice.

people will finally stop thinking korea (or at least VS) as a weak region after their run this time around. VS has had some of the best team chemistry, and all their players are so consistent mechanically, and its been that way for a long time. They got unlucky with meta changes, and adapted to meta too late and lost their chance at iceland first time around, and they just didnt look like the same VS that ive been following since 2020 at berlin with the new lineup since they were missing some of the most important in-game voices (glow and zest) that helped control the flow of rounds.

they look stronger than ever though. inb4downvotes but DRX wins VCT 2022 this time around.
