Cloud9 Cloud9 North America Rank #5 Xeppaa Erick Bach Rossy Daniel Abedrabbo v1c Victor Truong moose Kaleb Jayne OXY Francis Hoang have announced the signing of former CS:GO player Nathan " leaf " Orf to their male Valorant roster. The 17-year-old American is one of the two players replacing Josh " shinobi " Abastado and Tyson " TenZ " Ngo as the organization rebuilds its roster for the upcoming Valorant Champions Tour.
The announcement marks leaf's official entrance into Valorant, following years as a rising star in the CS:GO scene. Unofficially, leaf has been a part of the Cloud9 Blue roster since early December, being fisrt trialed during the JBL Quantum Cup, an event that saw no map wins from Cloud9 Blue.
According to a Dust2.us report from May, leaf was initially scouted for Cloud9's Valorant roster during the game's beta, however negotiations supposedly broke down before it could be made official. The following month, leaf would go on to sign with Chaos on a permanent basis in CS:GO.
On Chaos, leaf debuted as one of the region's best prospects in NA CS alongside Erick "Xeppaa" Bach, with the team last ranked #20 in the world. Before, he was a rising player in ESEA's MDL division, most notably for Rugratz.
Despite wins in the North American events for IEM Beijing and DreamHack Masters: Winter towards the end of 2020, Chaos released their lineup and exited the North American CS:GO scene at the end of the year. So far, leaf and Anthony " vanity " Malaspina are the only ex-Chaos players who have switched to Valorant so far.
With only four players officially announced so far, Cloud9 Blue have their eyes set on Seon-ho " xeta " Son as the team's potential fifth. However, with the global pandemic ongoing, it's unknown when xeta will attain a visa to officially join the active lineup. poiz is currently registered on the Cloud9 Blue roster in the first VCT: NA open qualifier.
