Not looking great... Those stats are bound to be down though. Last two Champs were in Europe, where timezones permit both the Western and Eastern hemispheres to watch the games at least to some extent. In the case of LA, EU and APAC viewers basically can't watch the last game, so if you take that in to account, it's not a bad number at all
Not a problem, no, but if you look at the viewership it's much lower than this current Champions, and even it was considerably higher than the previous Masters event, which was Copenhagen in 2022.

“An important caveat to note is that viewers from Chinese streaming services are not accounted for as these platforms do not show the number of people who are tuned in.”
”This is especially noteworthy as Chinese Valorant is enjoying its most successful international run, with EDward Gaming and Bilibili Gaming both making the playoffs”
Fake outrage.
I don’t think any of these reports include viewership numbers from china. Now that the game is fully released in that region, Riot is probably doing a lot of marketing, inlduding the VCT. I’d assume there is a lot of new viewers, especially since billibilli is in playoffs and they are probably promoting it on their site
2021 and 2022 champs were held in Berlin/Istanbul, those timezone r more suited for ALL 3 region viewers to watch. Holding event in USA will resulted in less views from Asia in which JP viewers carried a significant portion. If champions are held in Europe next year, it will guarantee have more overall viewers guarantee.
From group stage: "English and Japanese broadcasts — the viewership for these languages decreased by 35% and 39%, Portuguese viewers grew by 55%"
Now the main question is: How many viewers from all Chinese channels? There should be a lot, no?
Here's the report from EsportCharts themselves (Dexerto's claimed source): https://escharts.com/tournaments/valorant/valorant-champions-2023-valorant
And the main page of the tournament, but you'd need subscription to get all the stats: https://escharts.com/tournaments/valorant/valorant-champions-2023-valorant
P.S. Numbers do look alright without Asian viewers
1) If you fuck up timezones japan , china , SEA , kr , viewership will drop . During big matches of asian teams people from here itself will give u like 200k+ viewers , during cn match like 300k cn fans watch. If bad timezone here then like 100k viewers lost depending on the popularity of the match.
2) Same thing with EMEA , prolly like 50-100k fans lost
3) If brazil team doesnt do good then again viewership lost . Loud's games in champs were the most watched . if lockin didnt have loud in finals there wouldve been 200k less viewers again , the viewers who just tune in for brazil team
4) If no NA team does good then again some sen 100t meatriders wont watch the game
So compared to Istanbul's 1.5m peak viewers im expecting this champs to have 1-1.3m peak viewers ( 1.3 if loud make it )
"The timezones is not an excuse"
EMEA/APAC is still fine with matches until 1-2AM but in EMEA, the 2nd and 3rd matches start at around 2AM & in APAC its around 5-6 AM. Its not feasible for fans who have a job or go to a uni. Its worse for both of those fields which are a majority. I just think US timings mess up the whole timeline. Tokyo was still fine for EU/APAC but EU times are best for all I've noticed.
