I really hope so, but i'm afraid their success (winning EMEA, and being at least top 4 world), might make them delusional about the lack of teamplay. They have potential to rollstomp champions with a little bit more of teamplay, but it's rare to see a team with success do reassessment, wish mean they might have stagnation :/

We need a 2024 G2 that will slap stratégically a team that have twice their firepower to make them learn it's impossible to win inter by playing a semi-ranked

posted 5 months ago

Yeah, and what is the most sad, is that with a little bit more of strategy and rigor the team could be MONSTRUOUS
But because nobody is able to challenge them in EMEA they will probably "not change anything" because "if it's not broken why change it"

Leo Faria is an absolute monster on the server, a player whose mechanical skill and game sense make him look like he's playing an entirely different game. His aim is pixel-perfect, locking onto heads with terrifying precision, and his movement is so fluid it feels like he’s gliding across the map. Whether he’s holding down the c site on Lotus with just a ghost or dismantling sentiluls with insane crosshair placement, Leo Faria makes it look effortless. His ability to read the game and outmaneuver opponents is next level, constantly making plays that leave even top-tier players questioning their existence. Watching him play isn’t just entertaining—it’s a masterclass in dominance.

Fair enough in that case, I'm even sure Marseille is too far from the highroad to make it worth to go in Marseille if you do italy --> Spain, then you probably pass by Aix instead of Marseille (that probably look far more to Montpellier)

posted 5 months ago

WTF Montpellier T.T ? Did you really saw Noailles and Calanques ? T.T The weird mix between the poor Newborough that have drug dealer, just right next to the rich neighbourough just living in front of a hiking spot on mountain, with drug dealer having loyalty card, and Olympique de Marseille being raise at a level of a religion where the Velodrome is a temple (It's so high I suspect Mulsim Marseillan to go more to the Velodrome than at the Mosque), with hills everywhere on the city, and you systematically go up and down. To me they are a lot of things that makes the city unique (Calanques specifically, weird culture too)

This humorist have made a good summup https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JSMej2gB80

Wish part did you visit ? Only the "Vieux port" and the "Cafetière" ? (Thats the only part that couls be seen as Montpellier to me)

I strongly desagree with you, thats thanks to clash of idea, debate and everything, human species is able to do amazing things.
Sure his argument is poor, but thats not because he doesnt master the art of constructive debate that we should stop debate about thing.
Even more, debate allow us to understand each other more, maybe we will not find a common conclusion, but if we listen enough we will understand better the taste of the other and have a better understand of the world !

  • As far as I love Japonese food, i'm forced to give a 3/8 because of the price
  • Chinese food is better not because of the taste but because of the price
  • I prefer freezer pizza than restaurant Pizza because in France pizzerias put almost 0 tomato sauce, making the thing uneatable (contrary to freezer pizza that is generous), I just put some toast under the pizza and it makes amazing bruschettas
  • Savory melt is amazingly underrated and easy to cook

Hi vlr, today we are gonna review the composition in Abyss for the 8 team that participate in Master Bangkok. Keep in mind that team might change their composition . So here is the last composition played that the 8 team that has been qualified...

AS you can see, no team have an horrible reccord on this map, and only T1 didn’t has won any Abyss, but they have played only one, and Trace esport have a balance reccord, but the 6 other team has a positive reccord. Liquid is the most successful team on this map with 4 win for 0 defeat. DRX and Vitality have 2 win for 0 loose, G2 and Sen have also 2 win, but 1 loose, and finally EDG have 1 win but didn’t has loose any game.

About meta everyone play Sova except Sentinels, they replaced him by a Tejo, but only on their last games among the 3 they played on Abyss.

Same for Astra, everyone played her, beside Team Liquid, that replaced her by an Omen.
Script

Jett was played by everyone beside T1 and G2 that replace her by a Yoru.

Almost every team has played a flasher, either a Breach for G2, T1 and Vitality. Or a Kayo for Sentinels, EDG, Trace and Liquid. And in fact only only DRX has played no flasher replacing him by a Tejo.

For the last agent, half of team choose to pick Cypher, but EDG and Sentinel prefer play Omen instead, G2 choose Chamber, and Vitality play the infamous 3 Initiator composition, filling with a Tejo.

In conclusion the meta is kinda fixed for the first four agent, 1 duelist usually Jett, 1 flasher Kayo or Breach, 1 reveal, usually Sova, 1 controller and usually an Astra, they can have some variation on thoose pick, but thats the 4 main one. And for the last agent, everything is kinda open depending of the gameplan you have, you can go Cypher but you can also choose to play doble controller or do weirder things, so we might see a clash on phylosophy on Abyss. Thanks for listeninig the last video of the series, and for one, let the masters begin...

Only top 1 pass opn a group of 3 ? Really bad format, I have a full series of video against that, and to improve group of 3

Suspicion on unfair advantage
Verification of unfair advantage
Improving format for 3, 6 and 12 team It's mostly the last one that is more in the subject, tldw : It's really har to make a good format for 12 teams (5/10 is good, 4/8/16 is perfect, 3/6/12 = nightmare), this last solution talk about how to limit risk of group of 3 not creating any bias that result into competition integrity being break

posted 5 months ago

The actuel pickem system is trash, you could select the 4 best absolute team, and still not have all the point because of the draw. (Because even if A will always beat B in 100% in case, B will beat C in 100% of case etc etc etc, 4th best team can end after 5th team)

What we should have for a swiss with 8 team is :

  • Pick top 3 that will pass anyway
  • Pick 2 team that will pass depending on the draw
  • Pick 3 team that will not pass.

Even with the worst draw, we are sure the 3 best team pass and the 3 worst team dont pass, for the team 4 and 5 it depend of the draw

it's kinda what happened in 2024 Masters 2 :
Where based only on transitivity on Swiss and only swiss you have :

  • top 3 : G2 > TH with GEN could be anywhere before after or between those 2 since they didn't play against G2 and TH in Swiss
  • 4th : FPX --> since FPX only loose top 3 (GEN and TH) and beat FUT, and didn't has loose against any team of bottom 4
  • 5th : FUT --> since FUT loose against FPX and didn't beat any team in top 4 (FUT is before DRG and LEV because they beat them, and before T1 because they beat LEV that beat them)
  • bottom 3 : LEV > T1 with DRG could be anywhere before after or between those 2 since they didn't play against them in swiss

So a player that have the correct poweranking picking FPX over FUT, will lose point even if they were right.

For NA it's in their mentality, it's in DNA to not think about long term and just thinking shorttermwise, all the economy carry the stigmates of their philosophy : profit in short term or nothing. If something doesnt bring you a penny RIGHT NOW CHANGE EVERYTHING to have something that wioll bring you penny RIGHT NOW, even if thats trash on long term.

For Europe I don't know, we have this mentality but less, the shame of EU is that our team doesnt represent our country, we are the only T1 region in the world in that situation, no french speaking team, no german speaking team, no spanish speaking team, so barrier of culture into less stability I suppose.

Probably another reason i'm afraind Asia will dominate Val in the future as they did on LoL

Personally, it's the first event I say that. EMEA have a lot of rebuild, China beside EDG is a little bit shaky, and APAC is intresting, but G2 where amazingly impressive, they had an amazing teamplay and a lot of firepower, I come from LoL so i'm a NA hater, but for this masters NA look amazing, while EMEA look absolutely garbage (Even if I trust VIT to progress for Champions)

Hi vlr, i'm still ill but it's finally over, Abyss, the final and last video in this series

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ag5yewUaUCA&feature=youtu.be

tldw ; Almost every team plays Jett-Sova-Astra-Flasher (Kayo or Breach), for the last agent it's open, half of team play a sentinel and more precisely Cypher, but doble controller are also a thing, while Vitality plays the infamos triple initiator team. What do you think is the best choice for this lastpick ?

List of video of the series :

Intresting, really intresting.
Based on the fact the gap is closing, and based on the fact KOrean manage to have an even worth birthrate than Japan, when do you think Japan will become better at Val than KR ? 2100 ?

I'm not sure, they shined because of their comp, but I think it was more the "surprise effect",doble sentinels are good to surprise, but thats the archetype that is the most easiest get antistrat

"Chamber got nerfed 3 months before yay was dropped."
And ? What is important here is that they sign a Chamber main in order to make a gameplan around him playing Chamber... To get destroyed by a change of meta.

"Signing a mid cs player and having him turn into one of the biggest Val pros is pretty lucky."
They didn't have any benefit from putting of of the greatest player in Val scene

posted 5 months ago

I tend to agree witht that, but I'm doble smoker enjoyer

posted 5 months ago

That doesnt change they where unlucky to sign here right after the nerf of their signature

posted 5 months ago

C9 is the most unlucky org to me. Detect Tenz and lend it to Sen that did good and find themself in a situation where either they keep Tenz and attire hate of every NA fans, or loose on of best player in world. Hire Yay next week Chamber get giganerf and all their gameplay and system for the year have to change. Then get out by EG and would probably be in world if EG wasn't become one of best team in a short space (and get out with an OT)

Hi vlr, today we are gonna review the composition in Bind for the 8 team that participate in Master Bangkok. Keep in mind that team might change their composition. So here is the composition that the 8 team has played.

G2 didn’t play Bind, but it was not their permaban. T1 and TL have both same number of win, than number of loose, while the 5 other team have only one more win than loose, Sentinel didn’t has loose the map but thats mean they played it only once. So it’s hard to guess wish team will be best, Bind sounds as a neutral map that map that may be a decider in a lot of cases.

About meta, everyone plays brimstone, everyone plays Raze.

Half of team play Viper, Sentinel, Drx, Vitality and Liquid. And half of team play Vyze, T1, EDG and Trace.

For the 2 remaining spot, everyone play 2 initiator expect Trace that play Deadlock with Fade. For their 2 initiators, the 6 remaining teams hey play either Kayo, Geko, Skye and Tejo and every combination of 2 of thoose 4 agent are played by at least one of this 6 team beside Skye paired with Kayo.
Tejo plus Kayo : DRX and EDG
Tejo plus Geko : Sentienls
Tejo plus Skye : Vitality
Geko plus Skye : Liquid
Geko plus Kayo : T1

So in conclusion, Raze and Brimstone make a consensus, Trace is the only team that not plays 2 initiators, and you can pick any combo of 2 initiators has long as you have one reveal and one flasher, and they are a debate between team that pick Viper and team that pick Vyze. No team seems ahead on Bind, so it will be an instresting map to watch in this masters. See you in the next one and… byyyeee...

Hi vlr, sorry I'm ill so I kinda lack of energy and my voice is even weirder, but thats not because i'm dead that we wont talk about Bind meta

https://youtu.be/BY3xl543G_c

tldw ;

  • Raze and Brimstone are a consensus,
  • you can pick any combo of 2 initiators has long as you have one reveal and one flasher,
  • Viper vs Vyze.
  • No team seems to be favorite
  • Probably a decider map in a lot of case

Do you prefer Viper or Vyze ?
