They are not throwing Jonah under bus they want a international trophy so bad as 2027 they might get into franchise if they can prove they deserve it than existing teams
They have gone to so many internationals but didnt do anything so considering changes is the only thing they can think of
maybe they might have 7 man team where Jonah might play few maps and some other player plays some maps

I know im exaggerating, just disappointed jonah isnt going to be on the team. I understand the position they are in especially with the big changes to the game that someone else might be able to fit the meta better. Just sucks to think about well if they had won bangkok would they still be making this change? Because ngl they were like one round away from being the best team of the year so idk. Hope jonah can get on a good squad and is able to play some better roles like he was in 2024 before leaf joined G2

I mean Leaf didnt replace Jonah roles,
Jonah was always playing on support characters when he had to replace ne.to be fair who is kind of washed when you see him in this year c9 roster where he is inconsistent and not good for c9 too.
Jonah probably can't play chamber or something agro at higher level if leaf plays duelist
while someone needs to play chamber or veto.
not sure, as Jonah became unemployed the second they nerfed the abilities on every support character there is and he literally plays all the support characters

JonahP is the only guy they can replace other than Jawgemo as the core is the reason g2/guard is good and leaf is just criminally perfect match for them he takes breaks and sometimes so sick he comes back and shits on people
But You cant replace jaw cause no other player who can run in like dawg who is good at dive duelist than jaw as he can create lot of chaos when he has his team support.
I think JonahP replacement probably yay or babybay cause they might try double duelist like leaf and jawgemo or yay cause leaf can play neon, jett, raze and yay on jett,chamber jawg yoru, waylay and neon and raze Might need yay for these type of double duelist comps so leaf can be playing 2nd duelist while yay can fill cypher or chamber or veto or smokes when required
not a yay glazer but he is the only guy in NA that can play chamber other than baby bay who is team less on higher level
Lets see who G2 brings to redbull home ground Prolly babybay only for this tourny but not sure

y'know, this is an org move that probably only looked at stas
sure, jonahp's stats were not so good last year - his acs, vlr rating were all pretty low. HOWEVER, the reason the team was so good is because he was setting them up as a flex, whether playing double initiator to allow trent to play the tejo-rist meta early season, or playing double sentinel to also give the team more info, or playing viper to lurk and letting leaf do his thing. This was also shown by the fact that he was one of the top APR, despite being a flex (rare to get high apr) and not playing smokes/kay/o (kay/o is easiest agent to farm assists on (just knife + flash all spam assists), smokes too because if they push smoke -> assist).
He was #1 on assits all year, just because he isn't putting up kill numbers doesn't mean he isn't a massive part of the team. The ONLY way I can see this being justifiable, and this would be insane, is if they pick up zekken (honestly keiko too)
Zekken has shown willingness to play smokes or ONE initiator (kay/o), and the world IS shifting to a double-duelist meta, so he could play flex smokes/duelist with scattered kay/o play (but they might need a flex sentinel, so it maybe won't work). Still, JonahP is a key part of G2's success, and I just don't see this move paying off.

o7 to jonahp, hope he finds a team where he can still shine, either by helping his teammates or going back to a more "selfish" playstyle (and he isn't even selfish right now so)
